Some of you think the company is just out there to give free stuff away. That reminds me of something else that makes little sense.
With the many sales all of the time and all of the great freeware including routes and rolling stock there is no reason for anyone to have to own anything other than the core game which you can buy for almost nothing several times a year there is more than enough to keep any normal person busy for years.

All other stuff for this simulator is strictly your decision alone whether you want it so if you want it buy it otherwise don't. It's that simple.

That certainly isn't what I meant. I can't say what others are thinking.

TS 2010 came with the following routes, Somerset Dorset, Ruhr-Sieg, Great Western Main Line, (not original name) East Coast Mainline and Cajon Pass. 2010 was when I got TS. You can still get these routes.
Intel i5-10600K CPU, Asus TUF GAMING Z490-Plus (Wi-Fi) MB, Graphics Asus RTX 3060 TI 8GB OC TUF gaming card Windows 11 Home 64 bit, 16 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 ram, Viewsonic VX2728 LED 1080P FHD Monitor, Samsung 1TB SSD + other conventional drives, Corsair 750W PSU.

It was not even called TS2010 that time. It was referred as RAILWORKS back then, get your facts straight. The TS name was officially adopted for TS2012.

Hey... easy on the guy. We knew what he meant. *!greengrin!*

I started with TS2012 and am glad it got me Cajon Pass and Castle Rock. One of these days I'm gonna use my European routes. I've got a bunch of them and have only used them maybe once each. I feel some level of obligation to play them since I got them with each yearly purchase of the sim. But I lack enough motivation. *!embar*!

The British routes are fun, now that a person can get some Workshop scenarios for them. I like driving the HST once in awhile.
I think I could like London to Brighton, but the controls on the stock are a pain. I can't believe the brakes and throttle are that crude in real life. If I remember correctly, the throttle is a 3 notch setup.

I know that muppet. It was called either Railworks 2 or 3, I cannot remember which.

This is a bit off-topic, but in response to the issue of British routes, some are excellent, such as Woodhead, any of Keith's routes, but particularly Western Lines of Scotland, and the impeccable China Clay route set in Cornwall. All of these offer lots of freight duties rather than the usual pax hauls, and are quite different mmersive.

Don't worry about being off topic. This one left the rails some time ago.

After subscribing to a Riviera 50s Workshop scenario the area on the lower right listed the required assets as usual, however the Riviera in the 50s is shown as "Retired" even if you have it. Is this the case with other discontinued assets?

Retired is a temporary condition for that route and does not interfere with running the scenario if you have the route. If the scenario will not start from the workshop menu, just go to standard scenarios for Riviera in the 50s and you should find it.

I have scenarios that now say Test Trak is retired.

Depends on the size of the angel and the size of the pin.

the TS2016 routes needed to be 'retired' for a very short period while we changed the core content.

However, all will be back very soon.
The way the DLC changes per release makes for many added complications which means we keep Steam very busy.
not only can you buy it is a core release but you need to be able to get it as DLC in it's own right.
A few elsewhere seem to think this is simple... ;)

we need a glass protective case over the panic button.

To be sure the route and associated scenarios are working fine for me. No problems to report with other "retired" DLC as well.

Many Thanks,

That's because the Steam App remains in your library. The DLC pulled last spring or so generally would seem worthy of being TS Classics titles
