DTM knocked it out of the park with this one. It was a day 1 buy for me... and no regrets. Hopefully DTM will release a Cotton Belt version either in the market place, or as a separate pack. The only mod I can see with this pack is to replace DTM's default horn with a proper SP P3. Excellent job DTM... keep up the good work!

From posted images, I can conclude that the containers have one generic yellow color with no details, as they offered for the semi-TOFC for the Feather River Rte. Too much work for that price offering and no legal issues of copyright **!!2cents!!** Therefore, I hope that they planned ahead and provided a texture file with enough surface area to apply individual and different graphics, giving a decent resolution. Howard, may you inform us !!*ok*!!

Looks like I may have a new mission !*YAAA*! and put my 2nd set of Tropicana Reefers on the back burner !*don-know!*

I would love it if they did one too. In the meantime there is a freeware Cotton Belt pack in the works at Pacific Coast Railworks that should be out very soon. *steps off soap box*

Container01.jpg

Here's a screen capture of the single container texture. It's 1024x1024, DXT5 dds file with alpha, 9 MIPS. Looks like it should be enough texture space to do a good repaint. To me, the biggest challenge will be changing the from the default orange color to something different, but I'm not a good repainter. There are much more talented repainters on this forum, so I'll leave that to their gifted hands.

Container01_Wi.jpg

I believe this is the corresponding winter texture. Again, doing a color change might get interesting given the snow effects.

Container01_Alpha.jpg

Here's the alpha extracted from the main texture using DXTBmp. I remember there was someone a number of years ago that could take a texture, and make a neutral grey color repaint template from it. Anyways, maybe something like that can be done. Or... maybe if someone on this forum is close with the DTM folks, maybe they can convince them to release a PSD repaint template just for the containers??

Check freeware WIP for some painting information on the containers.

Their older SP SD45 has a proper P3, interestingly.

I think I just found a little oopsie. Someone commented somewhere that the uprights weren't tall enough to hold the top container. I just found out from doing a paint on these that the single stack seems to be off the floor a bit. If you go look at my paint in the freeware WIP you will see what I'm talking about. Before I go doing a fix I want to make sure that prototypical the single does sit down at the same bottom level as the double stack. Comments please?

It may vary a few inches depending whether the container is regular or hi-cure but still sit below the top of the brace.Image

Hi, do you think DTM SD45T-2 has realistic brake physics?

Dynamic brake barely works , and it has very abrupt action between notch 2/3
On 2% grade, it's useless to slow down the train, even from 15 MPH (I thought dynamic brake is the most effective at slow speed)

Can't control train speed downhill with main train brake too. On 2% grade and 20MPH speed limit, train still going to accelerate over 30 MPH with dynamic brake on notch 8, and train brake 90%

Of course not or it wouldn't behave that way. Now having said that what do you suggest be done?
