And such was (is) the case here, as within a matter of hours the main culprit posted no less than 10 times, many of which were extremely long, repetitive, and exceptionally crass, up to and including vulgarity and profanity.

I agree, the profanity was definitely out of order.

Read the comments of any decently popular facebook post or youtube video, and you'll see the same sort of things. It's unavoidable. !*roll-laugh*!

The situation is entirely avoidable, as any number of sites that provide a level of moderation and engagement based on social media best practices demonstrate. The sites you reference allow their posters to run amuck in totally unfettered fashion since they don't bother to monitor abusive "comments" nor invest in staff to do so. Such is also the case in this instance. This is not rocket science: The reality is that 95% of the problem is caused by a very small number of repeat offenders who visit the site not to contribute but to spread vile.

I agree. In part because of the "social media" sites not moderating it encourages the sort of behaviour that turns into this on other sites such as DTG Live.
In this instance a staff member did intervene and remove "antagonistic material" but actually left all of the cause of the problem posters untouched - perhaps DTG want this sort of offensive tripe on their site. That's not moderation that's dodging responsibility.

After apparently being part of the problem for attempting to push back on some people I want to apologize here and vow to stay off of places that don't seem to care what sort of rude nonsense is posted and on here I will strive to no longer engage these types of posts. I will just delete them and if they persist they will be banned. Any honest criticism of the quality of the particular item is always welcomed. However trashing the competence, the motives, or the sincerity of individuals or organizations is not welcomed and will be edited or deleted. It's just not necessary to insult people to make a point. If your mama, daddy, or teacher did not teach you that you should have figured it out on your own by now.

Buzz,

You have hit the "nail on the Head". I am from the "old school" as well.....and I am amazed by the comments of some of the folks who post here and other forums as well. With all the free content which is provided, I am always willing to purchase new items just to support the community. I believe that not only do some of these people just enjoy the "activity" of complaining, they might not have a "life" outside of this platform....or gaming in general. I was lucky enough to become a locomotive engineer for 3 years (before finding out that for the pay, I enjoyed not being on call continuously...and returning to sea :D ), and I do know that lots of folks get "passed over" and become "arm chair" railroaders, judging everyone and everything with their "vast knowledge" of the industry. That is why I like this forum, and post here regularly. It is always clean, and "fun", and though I am not a "modeler", I like to post screen shots show what is done with the modelers "wares" out there on the "high iron". I thank all of you, and really do appreciate the stuff that you do. It makes the platform fun and enjoyable, bringing back many memories to us "old guys"! *!lol!* And as a side note, looking at the shot below, if you are not enjoying this, and find that you cannot believe that there are no "swing hangers' on these trucks....well it is time to start looking for another hobby! Take care guys...and once again, THANK YOU! *!!thnx!!*

I installed the 567 Sound fix to the F3 folder and when I came to load up in the game it all crashed (OOM). I re-instated the DTM original Audio file and it all works again.
The fix works on the (new to me) GP9s and other items that I have (such as Kuju F units) but not on the DTM F3s has anyone else had this problem?

Do you have the latest version? They/he just released a new one about two or three days ago and mentioned something about crashes. I set the sound up myself as soon as I got the F3 and haven't had any issues but take a quick look at what version you have compared to the latest. Let us know.

The version I downloaded yesterday was 1.3 which listed the F3 right at the bottom (as if just added). I have removed that and downloaded a few minutes ago V1.4a, this now works as the game doesn't crash, the loco appears and the engine sound is definitely different to the default. I must have downloaded in between updates, thanks for the advice and assistance.

I do want to comment on the subject of addressing issues to DTM himself and giving criticism, but nothing has seemed to come of my attempt. So that's why when I hear this point I get skeptical.

Back in November of 2021 (the 6th to be exact) I commented on an SD45-2 wip shot. It was of the Conrail unit and it's lack of cab signalling (and in hindsight other things did stand out to me, fuel tank/filler gauge and horn placement being the biggest).
Exterior Coment and Response.jpg

And he did respond, so I also gave him a shot of what the interior should look like.
Interior Comment.jpg

One can also google EMD-style cab signal modules and get some results. I don't think it would be difficult to model either, especially for someone of his experience. So I just let it alone and wait for something to result of it.

So time passes, it's now the end of December and it's even made it to release. But upon looking at Schnauzah's review, I see the cab signals were never implemented, neither in the cab nor on the exterior.

So I contact him again, this time via direct message, and he acknowledges the problem, but I haven't seen anything on the subject since, especially since it seems he's moved on from the product and onto new projects.
response 2.jpg

I haven't said anything either in order not to bother him, but it kinda just leaves me confused I guess. Maybe it's not a genuine thing that needs attention? !*don-know!*

Just thought I'd share my experience on the subject.

TheR62Fan,
I'm not quite sure what your point is here. Are you trying to publicly shame him or is this just sour grapes because you didn't get the fix that you wanted? Calling someone out like this is not very nice. If you ever posted this on Farcebook I must have missed it. I am very interested in what you are trying to accomplish with this post?

I mean it's not that hard to implement something like thst if you have the source files. If anything charging people for an evidently incomplete product is not very nice. Of course, personal attacks against the individual are in bad taste. Cesar seems like a nice person although personally I feel his work is stuck in the past.
