Here is the deal with the horns. 1. Horn suck in this simulator, I just don't get why that is. People always have to mod them. 2. I 'wanted' to make it my mission to do decent horns. And this did not work out to my satisfaction. 3. So, I paid for the rights to use THE REAL HORNS to put on this model. 4. I, Minerman, slaved away for 20 hours over a hot computer to get them to pretty darn good level. 5. If you don't like the horns now - fight me!

I sent the SU3L horn sounds, and I wasn't too happy with that was done to it. I originally sent the horn file as a 2-part separate exterior and interior, but DTM changed it into a...excuse my French, but crappy sounding 3-part exterior only horn. Ever since TheAudioShack and Searchlight have been a thing, 2-part horns have been the gold standard for horn mods. My original 2-part (startloop, end) horn mod sounds much better than DTM's 3-part version (start, loop, end) which does not sound natural at all.

Your horn sounded fabulous. I know (knew) nothing about programming horns at the time. So, I put the time in to figure out what had happened (a configuration error) . I then decided to source and pay for certified horns and configured it myself. I ASSUMED at the time this was something quite easy to do. Given the other issues that cropped up, this correction did not get in the release. And so post-release it became JOB ONE to correct it. Please PM me if you would like to sample something interesting.

I said this directly to you and I have no issue saying it here: I love your sound pack. The coach sounds are ... second to none. I could not get those implemented either and it just kills me to this day. I feel and felt you frustration. In addition, I just sent over the 'electric bell" sounds for the doors yesterday. All this will be implemented in the release of the NJDOT-EL and "silvernose" set and will be part of an update to the the NJT set.

You did good - it was me not pressing the issue that caused the problem to not be corrected.

I saw your review today. In a way I was relieved when I watched it

The U34 cab is dead.on.balls. I had hoped that would carry the model. But, we needed the critical fixes of horns brakes and some other items. Geez and we need this EL NJDOT, so you can see it as it was built.

I'm trying to fix the horn on the engine, the start sound is too short by 2/10 of a second, which makes a short toot cut off.

I will do that over the weekend.

Never heard that one, gonna have to add it to my repertoire of expressions

Be careful - absolute perfection is a never ending task *!!wink!!*
Sounds good as is, far cry from before but noone will argue with making it more-good-er

Im still smitten w the traction motor whine... somthing not heard in this game often at all

Considering, the pictures, manual, specification sheet and the 360 degree interior images of the last U34ch in existence, I can say it's dead on balls ....

Yeah, my Comet sound pack had electric bell sounds that I made for the Arrow III pack, and the incorrect Comet IV door chime was implemented. Try to implement my comet coach run sounds, they were not even included in the release.

I am pleased to announce the release of the U34CH in EL-NJDOT as well as the transition period 1983 "Silver Nose". This will be 2 units included in a pack on the "Marketplace", whatever that is. DTM also announced the release here: https://www.facebook.com/Digitaltrainmodel. The units have been sent to DTG for review, and they will be out very very soon.

Sorry for the delay folks, it was on me. Between fixes for the horns, physics and the brakes, plus full month where I just decided to let the project rest, we didn't get this out fast at all. On to the brakes and physics; a special thanks to cnwfan for all his work to fold, spindle and mutilate the scripting so we can get something similar to Electric Hold in both the U34CH and the Cab Car. Frankly, it gets the job done. You will be able to make a service application, pull the brake back to "initial reduction" or "hold lapped" and the unit will maintain the application without losing brake line pressure until you release. As noted previously - Electric Hold was the 'thing' that makes this unit a game changer in train handling out on the New York Division. This will get you look at your air gauge and to plan ahead before your do your station stops. It's pretty fun to try and master.

Let's do some pictures:

20200913233946_1.jpg

So what do you get?:
1. New Horns, the horns are both SU3L but one is from a retired cab car and the other from a 1970 SOO locomotive. I did the sound and it gets the job done.
2. New Braking system that emulates the Electric Hold ( Lap)
3. Improved physics that add weight to the coaches.
4. Place holder "rings" for the NJT Dot Logo that will be available in a separate download.
5. Wheel squeal removed

It's my understanding this will be $5.99, in the market place with the dependency being the NJT Transit U34CH.

I still could not get OpenRailers very cool coach sounds in the unit - I hope he can hook us up in the near future.

Thanks to everyone for their advice, assistance and time to make this happen. Really without the help from the Pullman Museum and the United Railroad Historical Society of NJ we would not have these coaches and the cab interiors - that was a big deal. I spent two years on this project with all the research and beta testing. Its a darn shame I don't know how to make these models, but I am a fair route builder. I did EVERYTHING I could to get Erie Lackawanna as DLC and came up short. I will not forgive New Jersey Transit for their lack of "historical perspective" and preventing these 2 units from being in the original steam package. I am sure you all understand.

Lastly, thanks to DTM for taking this on and putting the 100s of hours into this project. !*salute*!

Not my area of operation but I can appreciate all the effort applied. Thanks to you and DTM for bringing this to the game for those whose area of ops it is. A big well done is well deserved.

Schnauzahpowahz thank you so much, one can't ask for honesty. It just happens. and you get what you get!
I just forwarded your video and my comments to DTM and CNWFAN (Mr.Brakes/Physics) you didn't miss anything!

The operative word here, in Spanish, is "redención" so that it would be clear to Cesar what I feel about this release.

Guys, do watch Schanuzah's video here: https://youtu.be/nkevdLphwbQ
