And last this afternoon I got these 2 units and the coaches to preview. This is not my first time seeing them but it is a first where the numbering is correct. And there is nice lettering detail on the EL NJDOT unit.

The following corrections were made
4. U34CH Cab - Power Gauge is not labeled.
6. U34CH Cab - Add the Metal Label above the switches on the bulkhead that say on and off

And the love of my life here, which i took out of Hoboken to see if any sound issues were resolved (not yet)

I requested highlighting on the undercarriage and bogie detail so it could be seen. This also has a nice shot of the EL NJDOT coach paint job.

We have a good start here over the past 18 hours. I says lets get the low hanging fruit and then work on the harder stuff.

And some more updates:
Regarding the NJDOT EL U34CH

1. **DONE** 1 shade darker blue add more alpha (20%)
2. **DONE** Use the Numbers as in the picture below.

You guys never noticed how we tried to match the font for the Engine Numbers. There are a total of 3 sets one fore each U34CH vesion.

Another Update:

2. **DONE** U34CH Cab - Order Light uses HIGH FPS (-10)
Actually it still kills precious FPS but not as bad.

Last I will post a picture of stuff that no one really noticed.

This is how you can tell the 1970 coach vs the 1983 "Comet II" and the 1987 "rebuilt" its the windows.
Regarding the horn - the cab and the U34CH both use a Leslie SU3L and regarding the horn and the door chime (actually its a bell) I have taken it upon myself to source and work on the sound sample for both So, if it stinks, you can blame me.

Making progress:
20200523224805_1.jpg

Regarding the Horns:
I have a line on 2 SU3Ls one from 1971 and another that was from a Comet 1. Currently, I am working on permission/licensing from the owner of the horns, this should be finalized in the next few days.

Of course, now I need to go to horn programming school so I can integrate this in to the model. My objective is the replace the exiting horn with 2 separate horns for the U34CH and the cab car. This will not 'cut out'.

Would someone be so kind as to direct me to instructions on creating a sound mod file. It appears I cant modify the existing S3L_HornControl.proxyxml and S3L_HornControl.proxybin and use .wav.

What I am looking to do is emulate a Sound Mod Pack for testing purposes.
Suggestions on creating internal and external horn settings would be helpful.

Or better yet, how I can add .wav to the exiting S3L_HornControl.proxyxml.
Thanks !

Just open the proxy xml and where it’s describing the start, loop, and end. Change the dav to a wav and it will now look for wav files. Put your new wavs where the davs are now in the folder. No need to delete the dav files.

Buzz - No Bueno!
I kept the save file name and change DAV to WAV no change in sound.
Attached is the original modified file.

I have 4 hours in so far ... an no progress.

If I make a change to the proxyxml i must close and re-start traisimulator correct? I cant just change the file and toot my new horn.

S3L_HornControl.proxyxml.txt

What in the heck is a "original modified" file? And yes you have to close and restart TS. I think you may need to do the proxybin as well as the xml.

That was supposed to read original Unmodified file.
So what is attached is what comes with the model.

So change the dav to wav like I said. It should the see the wav files you installed next to the dav files.

And there it was .... a thought from 10 hours ago. I saved the wav as 32 bit, the default was 16.
I spot checked a working wav and it too was 16.

So I converted my horns to 16bit and now they work.

OMG.

Thanks for working with me Buzz

Hi Minerman, sorry I did not follow this thread until now.
One question:

--> Does this model still has an issue when you are rising the regulator from 1 to 2 (or from 2 to 3) ? <--

I have bought the "GE Dash 7 Burlington Northern Add-On" and the "GE Dash 7 C36-7 Union Pacific Add-On" a few years ago and found the bug just described, which is still not fixed.
I helped myself by adding a modified sound to fill the gap. Perhaps I can help you with my solution.
