Gentlemen;
I downloaded a copy of trainsim 2016 onto my slave drive to see if the animations such as signal placement and the docks cranes etc would work on it and they do my question is does the main trainsim on my C drive is it corrupt because none of the animations will work on it and if so what is the fastest way to uninstall and reinstall trainsim 2016 onto my C drive. I have made copies of my assets and contents folders to put back in the new install will it work ok then?

Ok what the problem is I can't place signals or any of the freight docks or any of the cranes that are animated they just won't place so I downloaded a copy of trainsim 2016 and installed it on my E drive or slave drive to see if the animations would work and they did perfectly just like they should so my question is does that mean that the original trainsim download that is on my main C drive from steam is corrupt and if so what is the safest and fastest way to uninstall and reinstall trainsim 2016 back onto my main C drive where it is to be as I said I copied the assets and content folders from the C drive to put back all the stuff I have downloaded to use in trainsim and if that would work when I get a clean reinstall. The only reason I ask is because I can't signal routes or anything with the way the trainsim 2016 download is now on the C drive.

I have already used all the assets on the E drive download and it didn't change a thing everything works like it should all I need is to know how to uninstall and reinstall train simulator 2016 fast and safe on my main C drive.

If we could possibly have a period here or there we might have a clue what you are talking about.

Let me give it a go, Buzz.

Gentlemen,
I downloaded a copy of Train Simulator 2016 onto my slave drive to see if the animations such as signal placement,
docks cranes, etc would work and they do. My question is, is the main trainsim on my C drive corrupt because none of the animations will work on it? And if so, what is the fastest way to uninstall and reinstall Train Sim 2016 onto my C drive? I have made copies of my assets and content folders to put back in the new install. Will it work then?

Thank You,
William11857

Can't say it made too much more sense to me, but I don't do computers.

I'm not sure an uninstall and reinstall will fix your problem. If you copy off your assets and content folders and the problem resides within one of the assets in your asset folder, you will just be placing it right back into the mix if you copy those folders back.

If you do copy them back and the problem arises again, then you know the issue is with one of the assets. Then I would think you would have to do a clean install of everything, TS2016, third party, etc.

Just my two cents...

My better judgement notwithstanding I'll give this another shot.

So it seems you know how to place track linked objects since you can do it on your second TS2016 install that is on your 'slave' drive. One very quick thing to check is whether on your C drive installation you have Autorotate enabled - if it is this would explain the inability to place any track linked objects. I have accidentally checked this a number of times, perhaps this is what has happened to you as well.

See the circled portion in the lower left hand corner of the following screenshot. Make sure the radio button is not checked for Autorotate.
