Would anyone happen to know what the settings E-Hold and Handle Off are for with the train brake on the NJT ALP-45?
Thanks in advance.

Well in the real world E-Hold stands for electric holding. It energizes magnet valves on all the brake cylinders and allows the brake to charge. This way when you go to release it de-energizes the magnet valves and away you go. It also allows the operator to release then hold the pressure in the cylinders to ease the braking effort into a station stop kind of like graduated release but better control. All NJT equipment uses this control type. Handle off is the position you put the handle when you are cutting out the brake valve when it's trailing or in the middle of a consist. Hope this helps

as a note the brake valve in game is not simulated correctly. What I have stated above is the actual way the brake valve works on the real world NJT equipment.

Absolutely brilliant. thanks very much for that detailed answer. I couldn't find anything on the internet relating to either question and DLC have not mentioned it in the manual. I did make a guess but was completely wrong on both counts.

Thank you again :D :D

With that in mind...do you have a brake fix ready for all the DTG NJT equipment?

I believe he explained elsewhere that the things like blended braking and what not is LUA'd into the engine and therefore he couldn't mod everything to the way he desired because of said LUA being compiled and that any brake fixes would require DTG to implement them.

Might be worth a moan to DLC on what doesn't function correctly.

Well I had a look at the braking section and I don't think the game will allow the brakes to function as the prototype. It does mention Electro pneumatic braking in the RW documents but it would require rebuilding that section in the sim file. Also, I believe all the functions for braking besides handle positions are now controlled in a lua file. I guess they don't want me moding the systems anymore.
