As far as TS2016 goes, what do I need to do? I currently have TS2015 in my library and the TS2016 icon in the steam store shows "In Library"..... it also updated my game to TS2016, but do I have to buy TS2016...? I am so confused..


Also about the snow on the windshield, how do I get that?

Dont need to buy 2016 if you dont wish to. If you want the UP GETL or the 1950's UK route etc, you will need to buy. If you dont specifically want those, then you will end up with a nice new blue UI and an update to Sherman Hill if you already own it. (no specific idea what that update to Sherman Hill is as I dont run the route)

A reasonably unispriring release this year...

Good grief! RSC has been visually touting that blizzard since their first mention of TS2016 and I'm pretty sure that it's prominent in the startup video (which I don't watch). Is it actually in the game? Well, I haven't found it in any of the supplied scenarios.
Just for the record, I received the free update and also bought the "full" package at the introductory discount price.

Does the snow build up on the windscreen in that one? (I dont have the pay version of 2016 - nothing in there of interest for me) I have a feeling it may just have been "artistic license" in teh DTG promo video, but will be happy either way...

I will check it out and report back.

I'll let you be the judge if this is what you think it should look like.

By the way the view from inside the cab does look much like the video.

Thanks for your comments, Buzz. I ran part of that scenario yesterday and it does indeed resemble the promotional video. There's visible icing both inside and outside the cab windows, for example, and pretty heavy snow in the air. Unfortunately ice and snow don't build up on the rolling stock, even while the train is standing still; but, like you, I've been around this block for enough time to remember when we had to imagine rain on the windshield, even though it penetrated lots of rock right into the tunnels. RSC has brought this simulator a long way and I'm always eager to see what they can come up with next.
