Free DTG's content for TS2016 owners

OK, DTG/Kayako Support HD has responded to my several emails.

Dear Doyle,

In order to correctly assess the situation and what needs to be done, could you please check within your copy of Train Simulator 2016 whether you can or cannot see the EMD SD60M when selecting a loco from the Quick Drive or Career menu.

The SD60 is free to all customers who have purchased TS2016 however if you owned the purchasable copy of the SD60 prior to this, the free content unfortunately does not provide you with anything new.

The TS rewards content is something that we are hoping to release every set amount of time and currently we have only released the UP Insulated 50-foot RBL Plug Door Boxcar.

Please also check to see if you currently have this content.

Thank you for your quick reply.

Overnight my asset collection has been revised to now include the UP EMD SD60M in my /Assets/RSC/SD60MPack01/ directory. The SD60Mpack01Assets.ap file in that directory is dated 2/6/2014 with a size of 196,560 KB. I now have successfully located, as you suggested, the UP SD60M asset in the both Quick Drive Menu with three scenarios and in Career Menu with two scenarios, both listed and available in Sherman Hill route.

So it appears that the old SD60M asset, now showing as an item in my Asset collection, is now blocking me from receiving the recently announced and updated UP SD60M diesel as a TS2016 Rewards item. Thank you for arranging for me to receive this DLC.

However, I am still upset that I was cheated out of my UP Insulated 50-ft RBL Plug Door Boxcar TS2016 Reward item. I am telling you the truth that I did register my TS2016 Steam Edition purchase immediately on September 17th. And after I got prompted to do so, I signed on to the TS Rewards service. I never got the email confirmation of my TS Rewards membership or got the UP Boxcar added to my Asset Collection.

Is there anything that can be done to satisfy me about obtaining the missing UP Boxcar? I feel that I was cheated out of that asset bonus for my early and prompt purchase of TS2016 Steam Edition.

Don't you think "cheated" is a bit strong? Are you sure it's not there? It is in DTG and is listed as UPBoxcarPack01. I did the same thing you did and it is here on my end.

2- Rewards are a different thing entirely: if you register, you get them, even if you just upgraded TS2015 for free.

The reason people get the DTG SD60M is because the DLC was added to the Steam Sub package for TS2016 Steam Edition. People who just got the free upgrade will not receive it because they do not have TS2016 Steam Edition (or UP SD60M) in their steam library.

I have decided that it is not worth any further effort to pursue the elusive UPBoxcarPack01. I have repeatedly searched the RSC directory and I find no joy. I must resign myself to the fact that I missed my chance to get this bonus item due to no fault of my own. Hopefully, I have gotten my TS2016 Rewards registration successfully recorded now and look forward to future bonus content.

..... I did place a ticket a few days ago and this morning I got a silly reply giving the standard response about how the free content is only for users who've registered. I've replied pointing out that I did register - on the same day as TS2015 was upgraded for free to TS2016, and that I do receive the newsletters, and that I did receive the code for the free UP Boxcar. It's as if they've lost my registration. Anyway, I'm waiting for them to reply to my reply.

The SD60M flowchart doesn't say anything about registering.

That's right. You only have to have purchased TS2016 Steam Edition to get the SD60M, which is free content. Nothing to do with registering that's why the flow chart doesn't mention it. That's a different story. Go look on DTGs FB page or read in the Steam forums.

I wish people would learn to read things properly before posting. Doesn't just happen here but on all TS forums I visit. Make sure of your facts. That's how the rumour started about the Unreal version coming out this year which it isn't. Maybe next year or the year after.

So DTG support haven't a clue what they're talking about. It was the chap from DTG who told me I had to be registered (after I'd already told him I am).

Free content is given to those who have signed up for TS Rewards.

When launching TS 2016 a dialogue box can be filled out with your name, e-mail address, and date of birth.

If you chose for this box to "Not Display Again", it would not have appeared since.

Once this is filled out, when we release free content, you will receive an email with details of the content we have given you.

If you are not registered for TS rewards I can set an account up for you. We will need the following details:

-First Name
-Last Name
-Email Address
-Date of Birth

Once we have received this information and entered you in the system you will receive a confirmation email.

Unfortunately none of the TS Rewards can be retroactively granted and therefore any rewards given out prior to your registration will not be available.

That's right. Actual facts I have read from TS Facebook page. The awards are available to registered owners of TS2016 only. The free SD60M is available to people who had purchased TS2016 Steam Edition, which they said has nothing to do with being registered. Now who is right and who is wrong I don't know.
