The rear truck is the wrong way round! The frame and traction motors that is, the sand lines appear to be oriented the right way.
The same errors are made over and over ....

Edwin,
This is not a new locomotive. It is the same one that has been around for a couple of years.

Is this some kind of invisible file, because I reloaded Steam several times, and no SD60M.

Should this have a notched throttle?

For those having problems not able to get the SD60M why not contact DTG support as know one here can help. Remember you have to own TS2016 by purchasing it to receive this offer not the free TS2016 upgrade.

Classic case of looking a gift loco in the coupler (key word: loco).

Sorry, Tom, but I bought this long ago, so it was not given to me. Still, the loco is wrong after what is it, two years?

DTG are working their way through a number of issues on a whole range of DLC.

The fix for the bogies on this loco has been addressed but not made it's way from dev to test and release yet.

In the past we have made packs and locos and if errors are made they are honest ones, we are learning and growing as a team with everything we make.
Over the years we have addressed many of the errors we have made in DLC and core, we have 3 territories to get round and sometimes it feels like one has been forgotten for another.

Not sure how many were around back in Sept 2007 but I wrote on a forum that we would support this product for many years. I am pleased to say we are keeping our promise and we are improving what we do year after year.
Addressing older DLC can be problematic for a number of reasons, but we don't shy away from it.

Please raise issues with support tickets and they all count and matter to us.

regards

Derek

On a side note, TS20XX is interwoven into my life as it is to many of yours, as a user, a developer and a customer. Your knowledge and views help us get better and deliver better.
Keep up the feedback.

EDIT, This read a little dry and stiff, for that sorry. Now I am off to wrestle with some route building and loft laying :)

Thank you for the comment Derek. And thank everyone for the wonderful simulator game. Most of us appreciate all you and the team do and at least some of us remember the tremendous strides that have taken place through the years. We continue to support you in your efforts.

That all being said and well, the photo of the free UP SD60M clearly shows there is something peculiar with the rear truck.
i cannot believe this did go unnoticed by everyone at DTG Towers over the years since its commercial release.
Good to hear Derek c.s. are picking up on it now.

So I look forward to a fixed locomotive in the time to come.
I understand fixing a model can be difficult if it was commissioned from an external party, etc.

I only wish none of this will be carried forwards into the coming UE4 version of the game.

A fresh start can be made.

So far, US players have been given two monthly free models, now the UK and Germany, presumably DTG's other territories are wanting some ...*!lol!*

Has the SD60M been updated to TS2016 standards (Advanced brakes, new engine and wagon sounds from Krellnut)

Thanks for the answer Derek, and for still being on the team after so many years.
I've been very active in gaming communities for several games from different publishers, and I haven't met this kind of dedication before.

You haven't been given it because you paid for an upgrade to TS2016? You haven't bought it when it was released?

I've bought mine upon release and AFAIK I haven't received a new copy with TS2016, which I bought at a discount in the GMG pre-sale.
I have had Steam deliver a new and fresh TS2016 will all of my purchased DLC, so the SD60MPack01.ap file is from September 18.

I've checked over my copy and its engine.bin files are dated Feb 2, 2014, which I presume is the original release date from RSC. The engine script.out is only like 8Kb, and only does contain a control variable named virtual throttle. No virtual brake handles AFAIK but the script seems to act on braking. So perhaps the intermediate MkI advanced braking introduced with Canadian Mountain Passes and the subsequent NYNH CSX SD40-2, Genset, etc. has been applied? The UP SD60M has a combined throttle/dymanic brake handle and desktop type brake valves.

As to the audio structure, this seems to be entirely dated Jan 30, 2014. So I assume some incarnation of RSC's standard EMD710 sound set?

Perhaps somebody who received the SD60M as a gift can look over their copy? The SD60MPack01.ap I have in my game is 201277074 bytes.
