Hmmm....the easiest fix to the numbers is by editing the .dcsv files located inside to real world values found online. The numbers do not match because the game selects a random number from the file to use in the game.

Regarding the sounds....how are they? Does it sound similar to the Victory Works GT3 Turbine?

The problem with the numbers is that if each vehicle (A, B and tender) references a list (the .dscv file) with more than one number, even if they share the same list, each vehicle will pick one at random, and there's very little chance that they'll all pick the same number. So it's better to have just one number in the "list".

It shouldn't sound similar to the GT3, because the GT3 turbine was connected mechanically, through gears, to the driving wheels (it didn't have a constant speed generator and electric motors ... it wasn't a GTEL). The GT3 did have to change the speed of the turbine shaft in order to change the speed of the locomotive, which is one of the main reasons that it was a failure. The GTEL had the advantage of running at the constant, maximum rpm, giving it maximum fuel efficiency.

If I had known, I could have been of a little assistance. I just stood next to and photographed a stuffed and mounted one of these just two months ago at the IRM.

What I don't like is that the turbine sound not only does not change as the loco revs up or down, but it does not even have the Doppler effect. Also, the sound does not play when the camera is a certain distance in back of the loco. !*don-know!*

Nice visuals though, and plenty of scenarios for one to enjoy the beast. !!*ok*!!

Reason the turbine sound doesn't have a doppler effect is they recorded all the turbine revving sounds in mono, but left the idle and full sounds as stereo (I investigated to fix myself). This is a fairly easy fix in a program like Audacity. It's only about 2 or 3 sound files, so I guess I could pack them up and release if people want it that bad *!!wink!!*

The proxyxml volume values can also be increased.

Just a quick note about a discovery I just made (and that isn't included in the manual): to place this engine in a scenario, open the assets fly-out, select DTG and then UP Gas Turbine. You'll fine the A unit under engines, the B and Tender units under Cars. By the way, the tender cannot be coupled to the B unit incorrectly when you're placing it on a track.

I think you should hold off doing that for the time being, at least until I straighten some things out with DTG.

it would be preferable that having the original stereo sounds be used as the cab, but the new mono sounds as exterior only.

I didn't even get the Steam achievement for cumpleting the first (tutorial) scenario ... that's when I thought it's better to wait for a patch before wasting more time. :)

Rarely do I spend my money on a new train Engine and be completely satisfied. The GTEL is no exception in the sound department I found it to be overly quiet, and the Horn Please DTG, Get real or should I say Extreme. The Gas turbine's were massive monsters, of noise and Power , and at least should command a horn that could draw your attention away from this extra large yellow beast coming down the rails at you. To me it sounds like a Big stretched out Caddy with a VW horn. BEEP, BEEP.. Ok enough about the sound.
Now for the praise The cab what a immersive experience to set in the cab, no longer trying to hunch down to see out the window, A+ The forward view is outstanding A+ , The control stand and all the fixtures make me want to jump back in time and go rail fanning along the Sherman hill route. Whoever designed and implemented these wonderful pieces of eye candy into the game you deserve a raise, or hell a paid vacation what an outstanding job. I ran a 75 car loaded 40' refer train up the Gateway almost 0.9% for 40 miles and the Big Blow performed with outstanding pleasure. I found myself hesitant to shut it down and take a little break.
I know that with all the talented people here on this site that the sound will be fixed to represent the massive Amount of HP, these engines produced, and all the wonderful loud and noisy things that went along with getting these monsters down the rails. And of course a horn that really says get the Hell out of the way there's a Turbine engine coming at you. ( Are you deaf) !!!

No wonder I was so excited to make my GTEL horn mod....
