GMG will be a steam code for the Standard game. The only drawback to using them would be that while the base game will be the same (eg TS2016 is TS2016 regardless of where you buy it), there's usually a Steam Edition that tosses in a few extra things.

eg TS2015 Standard
Includes 4 items: Train Simulator 2015, Train Simulator: East Coast Main Line London-Peterborough Route Add-On, Train Simulator: Munich - Garmisch-Partenkirchen Route Add-On, Train Simulator: NEC: New York-New Haven Route Add-On

TS2015 Steam Edition
Train Simulator 2015, Train Simulator: East Coast Main Line London-Peterborough Route Add-On, Train Simulator: Los Angeles Commuter Rail F59PH Loco Add-On, Train Simulator: Munich - Garmisch-Partenkirchen Route Add-On, Train Simulator: NEC: New York-New Haven Route Add-On, Train Simulator: Pacific Surfliner® LA - San Diego Route, Train Simulator: San Diego Commuter Rail F59PHI Loco Add-On

That said, the code is good until Friday, so no need to rush out just yet.

I'm actually fairly interesting in the Turbine units, from the looks of the preview seems to have all the features I look for.

Probably will get this tomorrow then.

We also don't know if Dovetail will have some sort of cheaper price for people with TS2015. There's a chance we could do better than $30 from GMG.

I took the plunge and bought from greenmangaming. $30.80 US. Hopefully i actually end up saving money - the exchange rate for Canadian $ is pretty rough right now. Every time I have used Greenmangaming I have saved money so hopefully that will be the case this time lol.

So by using Greenmangaming I saved just over a $1. lol - felt like rolling the dice on it.

I noticed that the Steam edition will come with the Coal District route. I already have that one - but for others it looks like you will get a bonus route if you buy from steam vs greenmangaming.

Don't know why they can sell the UP GTEL and others alone, and why there is no standard edition.

Give them some time. The SP SD70M was released solo when it was initially exclusive.

If you have have 2015 (which I know you do) you get the 2016 for free. The only thing I'm not sure of yet is whether we are going to get the updated Sherman Hill in the free update or whether it comes with the UP GTEL.

Essentially speaking the SP SD70M was exclusive only to the TS2014 Steam Edition when it came out; a few days later it became standalone. For some reason it is impossible to view the contents of the Steam Sub, which has no Penn Coal inside. I can remember when Epic Journeys first came out Soldier Summit was exclusive to that pack. I am tempted to buy this early so I can win free DLC monthly. Will not spend $40 for two new routes and their bundled stock, and two new locos. (I already own Sherman Hill and Köln-Koblenz)

I was still prompted to register for TS Rewards even though I have yet to buy the 2016 add-on.

Will the locomotives included receive lens flares and some other minor physics updates (Advanced brakes!!!), such as a new K5HL from the NS Coal District ES44AC to the Sherman Hill one?

Regarding the GTEL, I am sure they will sell it individually after a while.

I don't recall seeing any lens flare at least on the new ES44AC, but the new braking is there. I noticed the new Sherman Hill updated consists are standalone on the selection screen as if screaming "Hey.... cuz we were updated... we wanna stick out to bring attention to that fact!".

Just got my new UHD television yesterday and TS2016 at 4K resolution just looks so crisp, sharp and clean. !*drool*!
