Default Kuju US Engines

Unread postby tagsdm » Sun Aug 14, 2016 10:09 pm

Hello All,

For some reason, I can no longer get my default Kuju US engines to load. The UK locos seem OK, and all the stock seems fine. But the ES44, SD40 and F7 will not load. They show in the editor, but only couplers show in a scenario. To remove them, I have to use RW_Tools and edit the scenario. I can't remember moving or changing anything and am totally lost. Could I have messed something up?

Many Thanks,

Have you tried un-checking them from steam and re-checking them?

Haven't even thought of that. Would that be the US loco and assets pack?

Well, good try, ZTK, but no go. All other assets seem OK, just the 3 engines, or their repaints, won't load. Look fine in the editor but show only couplers in a scenario. I just don't get it.

That's as far out I can think of for a solution, otherwise I'm not sure.

Ninety nine times out of a hundred the Geos are in the wrong place or missing if all you see are couplers. Check to see if they are there and the date on them. I take it you can see them in RWTools so that means the bin files are there.

It just seems so odd. They worked fine a couple of months ago, but yesterday, nothing. Because it's the 3 engines they must share a file or folder somewhere that they aren't, for whatever reason, able to find. Bins, geos all seem in order. I even copied the Diesel folder from a backup to no avail. I don't even use 'em that much, I just want to know what's going on. All other stuff seems OK...for now anyway.

This is where they should live.

And this is what the ES44AC folder should look like. Forget about the 44a-Helper and so forth stuff. That is a Wally-Buzz hallucination.

Yep, that's exactly what I have, Buzz, to the letter, except for the helper stuff. Same with the SD40 and F7. I was repainting the SD40 into ACRR and the other day it and the other 2 were gone. OK in the editor, but in a scenario, nothin'. So strange.

Let me give that some thought. There's always a answer out there somewhere.

Victory. Spot_light.GeoPcDx was missing from the ...\RailworksUS\System folder. Engines now appear and are drivable. I used RW_Tools to search for missing files, and copied the culprit from the UK system folder. Why it wasn't restored following ZekTheKid's advice, I'll never know. Many thanks, guys.
