GE P42DC Empire Builder Review

First, I will start off with the cab of the P42DC. The cab is beautifully modeled and mostly correct. However this is where RSC usually shows their faults. The first problem is the screens. The fuel gauge does not change, the volts don't, the amps dint and several other things are not animated. However this can be overlooked if you don't spend much time in the cab. They added several fun details to the interior such as working lights and opening windows. However, when you open the windows, there is no change in the sound of the locomotive. Now I will review the outside. RSC did a wonderful job capturing the beauty of this locomotive! RSC succeeded where most others fail; the shape of the nose. I'm not saying the nose doesn't have its faults, it definitely does, but they got they shape right! Now for the faults of the nose. The plow is to big. It shouldn't overhang that much. Now for the headlights. All P42DCs (except for 182) do not have the headlight cover on due to problems. Again, not that big of a deal. Don't even get me started on the sounds.

Depends which model you're talking about. The GtraX, RSC, or DTG (Miami) one?

Edit: I'm guessing the Empire Builder one?

TheAudioShack's payware P42DC sound pack is a humongous improvement over the default sounds. It's a must have especially for more experienced users who know how to edit bin files.
