Today's Twitter update:

Adams usual travel intelligence, to turn up without a power adaptor. A drive around Lancaster saves the day when I find a Walmart to buy one

This is VERY interesting. The greater Lancaster, PA area is home to a number of railroad sites, including a major station on Amtrak's Keystone line and of course the Strasburg Railroad. It is also, and perhaps more importantly home to the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania---an impressive museum with over 100 historic cars and locomotives. The heart of the RRMPA is the famous Pennsylvania Railroad historical collection, including the following locomotives:

PRR D16sb 1223*
PRR E6s 460*
PRR K4s 3750*
PRR E7A 5901
PRR GG1 4935
PRR GG1 4800
PRR E7s 7002*
PRR A5s 94*
PRR H6sb 2846*
PRR H3 1187*
PRR G5 5741*
PRR L1s 520*
PRR H8 7688*
PRR M1b 6755*
PRR DD1 3936/3937
PRR E44 4465
PRR GP9 7006
PRR B1 5690

*denotes steam locomotives

...this is in addition to the large collection of historic freight and passenger equipment, including boxcars, reefers, open and covered hoppers, gondolas, tank cars, ore cars, coaches, baggage cars, Pullmans, and cabooses, the majority of which is, again, of PRR origin.

Given the impending release of a 1950's (transition era) representation of the Pennsylvania Railroad mainline, I have to connect a couple of dots. It is entirely possible that this is pure coincidence; Lancaster does after all lie on a somewhat out-of-the-way path from Philadelphia to Altoona (among other places). For myself, however, this Twitter post is the most significant since the formal announcement of the Horseshoe Curve route two weeks ago.

Feel free to draw your own conclusions.

Ryan

**It should also be noted that the majority of the equipment described above also operated on the NEC at one time or another.

Hope he visits Strasburg and the RRMPA. Two top notch places that represent American railroading properly. Or he went to Dutch Wonderland. !*roll-laugh*!

I hope Adam gets to each lunch at the "Good and Plenty" restaurant on his Pennsylvania trek.

I'm surprised there isn't more chatter about this surprise (to us) trip. It is huge. The amount of equipment Adam will be exposed to (and document) is astonishing. Especially since it sounds like he is getting special treatment. He is probably getting to see more than the average visitor.

So weird to know he is at the same place I visit 3-4 times a year. Hope #90 is running, the old gal is a beauty. If he is still there Tuesday I'm totally stalking him down. !**duh*!!

Bah, I work all day tomorrow. Would've been nice to meet him though. Would've bought the team a bunch of Tastykakes to take back. :)

Just make sure he doesn't leave Philly without having a cheesesteak, or I will come and steal his passport.
