Which Route for Late 19th Early 20th Century

I have been stocking up on Old Freight and Passenger rolling stock from Golden Age of Railroading, (NP 19th Century Freight Pack & PRR Passenger Pack: BA / OD / PD Classes pack) and I have found the 4-4-0 & Tender here of course as well as Chesapeake & Ohio Kanawha 2-8-4.

Now all I need is a route that best suits the period that these would all fit. I have just downloaded 'Norfolk Southern Atlanta North District' Route from SMMDigital, not saying that is the best route for this scenario building idea but it is new to me and may be the one I use. What I really want is a route that is perhaps low on late 20th century looks if you know what I mean. I don't suppose there is one but just in case anyone knows of one, could you let me know where that is.

In the meantime I am off to build a scenario or three with the bits and pieces I have collected so far in the hope that I can pretend I am in the late 1800's or early 1900's

Have you looked at the C&O Alleghany? It has a mostly "old" appearance, (early-mid 20th century?) except for a newish brick building here and there. The old Greenbrier sub is set to around 1900-1920, however I have almost none of the scenery done on that branch yet (waiting for the new MAP [block asset] tool). There's an updated version coming out any day now (I'm tidying up scenarios).

I would suggest looking at the Big Horn Sub and Moscow, Camden & San Augustine 1920. Both routes are by Michael Stephan.

I know your route Tori, not downloaded the latest update let alone have another coming out! Best I go fetch the latest one anyways.

I like the idea of that route as it fits in with my story line of Logs-Pulpwood-Planks that I want the scenario to involve. Just hoping for a longer run. I will look at the route and see how feel after a flyover...

Try the Cimarron and Pacific. It's here in the file library. I wouldn't try to run the Kanawha on it though; I think the biggest engine that route is intended for is Ron Pertuit's Atlantic.

I've run the Consolidation on the mainline on the Cimarron & Pacific. Also, the Challenger on the mainline to the east, to the turnaround loop.

I have run this route from end to end with Dick Cowen's 2-8-2 with no problems.

I ran it with the 2-8-2 as well, but I noticed that the wheels actually come off the track at certain points, even though the game doesn't consider it derailed. So you technically can run it, but not really.
