If you bought RW through Steam then, yes, you will automatically download updates (unless you specifically turn it off).

that would be in the steam icon? where you verify cashe ect.?

Yep. From your Steam-client, games Library, right-click RailWorks, Properties, Updates tab, select "Always keep this game up to date" in the drop-down choices.

Hi easiest thing in the world. Mine just does it for me when I fire up the game (I am always on-line mind).
Love STEAM for just that reason.
