Goodbye For Now, Big J

Well, it's official, I have to say that these days I have little to no time for 3d development any longer. With working three stores at work and trying to finish some books, including 1 that's overdue for release I really have no time for 3d development. Besides, I never see any pictures of anyone using my assets anyways, not even the 58 Plymouth Furies that are available at my website.

...Cheers...

If in the future I have any time for 3d development or the such I might return to do some new models, but as of right now it's not likely. So far I'm burnt out of it to the point where I can't even stand to open the editor.

I'm not leaving RWA, but I probably won't be doing any models though.

Take the time off if you choose. If I ever get to the point to publish anything you will see a bunch of your creations. In any event don't be a stranger.

I think you may be proud of your huge contribution to the community.
One thing for sure is we should do this for fun. If you don't enjoy it any more, it's time to stop.

I do enjoy your assets. I have used them in constructing "sets" for shooting period screenshots. Your ere cars are great and the 50's era Ford hi rail pickup, it fits well with your old construction equipment. It sounds like you have a busy schedule I can relate to that. Keep them up on the web page if you can.I brows there often for specialty items.

Definitely can do that, if I get anytime I might try to add some more items to the website in the near future as well.

I actually have been a fan from the start of your assets you have made jpetersjr, I've used them to many many routes, even added them to many US DLC routes. I feel you were the only one active in making models for TS. Again as I said, your assets brought the game to life for me, and I am grateful for all you've contributed to us for the game.

I too have had a lot of fun adding your vehicle models to my existing US Routes, both as moving traffic and parked cars. Your work is certainly appreciated.

I sometimes wonder that if people ever donated to my website at Big J Productions to show their support perhaps then I would be able to afford to upgrade it.

It would also make it a lot easier to want to continue modeling for the community, and perhaps doing requests.

Yes, I would love to be able to upgrade the website, but currently I can't afford to do much of anything with it.

That's the problem with Freeware or Payware, when doing Freeware it's hard to get much of anything from it to really feel like it's actually worth it.

That's why these days that I'd almost rather be doing my books, at least there I can get peace of mind.

Part of the reason for having a big hub like Railworks America is to have strength in numbers. At least on the Trainz side of the sims a lot of small devs will cluster together on a large website featuring multiple sub-sections for more established or reputable contributors

Makes me wonder though, if I put some items up on my website for paid, like my Chicago Skyrail model for $5 dollars would anyone buy it.

Don't know there, that's a big mystery to a freeware developer.

Say if I wanted to take a trip to Chicago to take reference pictures, unfortunately I can't afford a trip to Chicago and I probably never will. If people in the community could do that for me it would be just as good as a donation, since those references and building facade pictures are hard to come by. If someone lived in Chicago, or rather close it would be nice if they could attempt to take some reference pictures.

...Cheers...
