Long Routes

Unread postby SithMurcielago » Thu May 12, 2011 10:36 pm

I know they are few and far between and when they are around they are hard to load, but i've been addicted to night driving/riding lately thanks to Armstrong powerhouse lighting enhancements. I can't wait till miguel releases the Talgo 7th Generation Hotel Trainset. I'm going to be riding in every car. You have to watch the youtube videos of these trains they our Cascades fail into comparsion with these. Anyway I'm looking for routes that are :

90+ miles
Not Resource intense
Doesn't require alot of payware
Any Country
Not a Mountain Route

I have WCML and JT's Bristol Route, I can't use the Northern Europe A route because it crashes my computer all the time come on guys I need ideas!!!!!

Thanks!

I think my "Western Wildwood" high-speed-route might fit the bill once it's finished. :) I'm hoping to get it up to around 100 miles in length by the time it's finished.
(Though it will probably take several more months of works before it's nearing completion.)

And, though it will have a couple of mountainous/hills type of areas on parts of the route, it will also have a good variety of other landscapes to drive through as well.

Brendan Moran's excellent Dublin - Cork route http://members.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info.php?form_fileid=25225 (UKTS file no.25225) might fit the criteria.

90+ miles : Yes. 166 miles long, with 85 miles scenicked (spelling?) and the remainder a w.i.p.
Not Resource intense : I would class it as in the middle resource intensive wise. On my middling computer it runs decent enough, WCML is the only route i have trouble with.
Doesn't require alot of payware : No, IOW route and the class 66 loco, which maybe you have already.
Any Country : Ireland.
Not a Mountain Route : No.

It does require a good few freeware files, but if you decide to download the route, PM me and i might be able to help. Also as i don't have Armstrong powerhouse lighting enhancements i don't how it would interact with this route.

Just a suggestion it might be worth a look at and see what you think.

I will be working on my KearneySub/BaileyYard project again soon. It is planned to be 115 miles of Nebraska double and triple-track with only minimum required freeware scenery (low-load on the pc outside of the yard). The goal on this one is time; I am 75 hours in, shooting for 200 (is sure to go over that, though).

Am in hopes that someone who knows the place might do some modeling of the yard facilities.

I look forward Tori to this route of yours. As for the dublin Cork v3 I played it last week and was mad that this route is still incomplete. Plus the route was all straight track kinda boring a little. Meh I'll pass.

I hope that Transpennie route comes very soon.

I'd say Soldier Summit when it's eventually finished, but you said not a mountain route.

Tracks will be strait in flat locations, so you can expect that in these [flat] types of routes.

Barstow to San Bernadino's gotta be 90 miles. A few hills but it's not like they are mountains. Lots of scenarios there.

Beat that route like stole something. That and tori's route are the only mountain routes so far i would keep. I downloaded Denmark 2000 D version (Was there an E Version Somewhere?). I even tempted to extend it a little to make the Night driving a little more longer.

Any more suggestions? I wish that Ligne de nord route wasn't so pack with dunk. It would be a hit maker being RW has few french routes.

Well, If You say French I remeber the LGV Med route from old days of MSTS. It was complete with its own singalling (TGV uses special signals designed for high speed operations) and it's own scenery like bridges, catenarys, stations etc. I hope that talented frenchman will convert/rebuild it to RW someday.

Well there was someone on the french site where the TGV was release doing the LGV. I don't know what happen to him. I also saw people doing other TGVs like the Duplex, POS & Sud-Est. They all disappeared. One day they will be back i hope.
