Polar Express train and cars

Unread postby Nebula905 » Sun Mar 01, 2020 6:00 pm

Does anyone have a polar express loco and cars that doesn't require any dlc that I can download? The only thing I require is that it has the polar express whistle from the movie. I hope someone sees this. *!!thnx!!*

That doesn't actually say "Polar Express" and I personally don't know about the passenger cars, but this is essentially the same thing, right?

!*salute*!

I was looking for a reskin that says polar express instead of pere Marquette and a new whistle sound to be the actual polar express whistle from the movie. And then the polar express cars. *!!thnx!!*

Hi and welcome to the forums. At the moment and to my knowledge, there are not any current Polar Express engines. The freeware Perre Marquette is the best engine currently until someone repaints it. Perre Marquette 1225 was the actual engine filmed for the Polar express movie. However all sounds were filmed at Railtown 1897 on Sierra Railway #3. Why this was done, no one knows. But I'm friends with many of crew on the 3 over the course of the several days that Warner Bros sound technicians were on site recording. Someone could take one of the many audio recordings of the 3's whistle and create the file needed for Train Sim. I would volunteer, however this is my first post in months and am still too busy to devote any time to Train Sim.

Years ago I was playing with repainting the PRR P70 from Horseshoe Curve into PolEx paint, it was an early repaint attempt and kinda rough... If you'd like to try your hand at finishing it I'd be glad to pass it along to you.

I have absolutely no idea how to make reskins so please don't pass it to me.

This is for the payware S-2 Berkshire from steam. But I "think" these textures would work with a cloned version of the freeware Berkshire.

(Please note that you do have to be logged into trainsim.com for this link to work.)

Nebula, try this one (after logging in to trainsim):

https://www.trainsim.com/vbts/tslib.php ... d=15186526

If that doesn't work, go to the library search function, under "Search only file section", select "Railworks: RW Locomotives", and use Berkshire as the "Search for text" word.
...or you can copy-paste this filename into the search File Name function: classs-2berkshirepolarexpress.zip

I have never seen any repaints for the passenger cars. You should make a post in the "Model/Repaint Suggestions", section requesting the repaints. Make sure to provide some good pictures/screenshots of the cars as well. Now there are no matches for the exact car type that is used in the movie, but you can get close enough using the standalone "VNH heavyweight coach and heavyweight baggage cars", available here: http://golden-age-rails.com/packsrw/vnh_nyc.html

For the Observation (End Car), you could suggest using the BritKits Observation Car, as it would match up the best to the others body style. Or, if you want a free one, there is the UP Observation car that comes with the MSTS Conversions pack. It just would not match up as well as far as the body style.

I hope this helps. I'd like to have these cars as well.

How do I get to Model/Repaint Suggestions?
