Refueling Points

Hey Guys!,

Just curious.... I am running steam on the Sherman Hill Route. Mostly, I am free roaming. The question that I have, is, without editing the route, can I place water towers/columns, and coaling towers/ fuel oil spots, to refuel steam locomotives? Also, is there any other place, other than Speer, to water a locomotive? Thanks in advance! Also...has anyone ever thought about "back dating" this route? Just a thought.

Best Regards,

Galen

You can, if the refueling point has in its .bin the flag "ValidInScenarios" set to true. Just look in the scenario editor if you see the fuel points. If not, extract the .bin file out of the .ap and place it under the same path as it was inside the .ap. Then serz it to .xml, set the flag to true and serz it again back to a .bin file.

As Overshoe already said, there is a version vom Alpenfreight, representing the route in the 1950s for the modern steam locomotives and if that still isn't backdated enough there is also a version in the file library which represents the route in 1869.

Just installed Sherman Hill vintage. Has anyone ever made scenarios for it?

Is the locomotive behind the one in front performing some extreme tailgating, or are they invisibly coupled? It looks bizarre to me, albeit interesting.

Edited.

In the side view the second loco has a dark speech bubble and might be saying “ git outta the way”.

Nope....RSC has never updated this locomotive to have the front coupler come out of the pilot, when coupled. It is coupled within the game....however, no coupler shows.
