I've seen videos on youtube where the bells on SMM Digital's RR Crossings turn off after the rr gates go down on youtube and I'm wondering how could I make them turn off when the gates go down like they do in real life

Do you have the Stevens Pass DLC? Those crossings do what you are talking about.

I see what you are talking about now. Are you trying to modify another crossing model so it acts like the SMM Digital ones?

I believe the SMM Digital crossings are or were freeware models. Let me have a look and see if I have them.

I just checked the SMM Digital crossings and they do have what you want. If you want the bell function from the SMM Digital onto the RCAP model, then I can see what I can do.

I do want the bell function because I'm getting tired of hearing the bell when I try to blow my horn or whistle
and I only like to hear it when it first comes on

Odd talking about SMM after all this time. But I could have sworn we put all the SMM stuff into RCAP (with Jerry's blessing). Did the bell not making it in?

You did. However if you have both RCAP and SMM Installed they both show up with different names.

Since we are on the topic of RCAP, How come the USDEF version of the signals didn't get included into the pack?

Yes, we repathed the SMM stuff because Jerry provided a few model side updates. RW2 >> RW3 enhancements if memory servers. We did not want to retest the old stuff with overlayed with the new, thus two versions exist.

As for the USDEF, I cracked open my archive and saw the path was under Kuju/RailSimulatorUS. Just guessing here since it been several years but it may have been dependant on Kuju and RCAP was completely DTG FREE so we could not include them.

The only problem I have with those crossings either From RCAP or SMM Digital is when the train is far away from the point, it then activates, then when the train comes to the actual crossing section the gates deactivate early. It happens with small length and long length Consist.
