i was looking around on the internet and i stumbled upon this flicker page and YouTube account.
https://www.flickr.com/photos/dsgddr/https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6J0G5 ... AxV-83k-Cghe seems to be a developer of either freeware or payware steam locomotives. I don't know if he will ever release any of his steam locomotives but i hope he does. I know he still models because the last photo on his album is from sept 24 2014.

IIRChe had posted some of his work on TS, back in the KRS days. After a while, we never hear from him again. It's nice to see he's still at it.

As far as I can tell, only the UP auxilliary tenders got released.
Did the guy create a FEF3, Challenger, BigBoy and 4-12-2 or are these MSTS conversions?

I'm not quite sure what you are talking about. The FEF, the 4-12-2 are MSTS conversions. The Challenger and Big Boy were originally done by IHH and then redone and sold by RSC.

I was talking about DSGDDR's creations.
Take a good look at the photos on that Flickr page.
That Big Boy looks different from IHH's I have.
Also there are pics with the engines still in untextured form, like straight from his 3D erecting floor.
If these models are indeed finished, it is a pity they were never released to the public for free or to the market as a piece of payware.

Even know he had created them, I'm not sure if he could legally release some of the models since most likely it would interfier with RSC's sales of the same model engine.
I don't know if we could have a payware model and a freeware exact replica of the same engine in the sim without angering RSC.
Like they say, if you bite the hand the feeds you thaat wouldn't be a good thing, because angering RSC could possibly result in a bad experience for the freeware community.
Now UP 9000 would be a clear road without anything standing in the way of it getting released, since there's not yet a payware engine of that.

Maybe hes making a four pack of locomotives or something like that because it seems like the only reasonable explanation. Who would model three detailed steam locomotives and not share them that just seems like a total waste of 3 years of development.
p.s. can anybody get the up water tender to work? Mine is just 2 floating couplers.

People don't always do things for the public. Sometimes they just do them for themselves you know. @Conrail. Send me a PM and I'll tell you what you need to do tonight when I'm in front of my game machine.

While I can't speak for RSC/DTG, I myself am not bothered at all. I doubt that two developers would ever come up with "exact replicas" even if they were supposedly modelling the same thing. As the old saying goes, ~"you pays your money (or not) and you takes your choice".

Legally there is absolutely nothing RSC could do if he decided to release the models as he has not used any part of their models to make his own add to that the fact that RSC do not own the copyright for the locomotives designs and if and this is a big if they decided to take him to court they would be laughed out within 5 mins
I mean look at the uk scene atm they have the just trains clan class already out and rsc is releasing their own so there is no problem with having multiple models of the same locomotive

I've already said that I'm not bothered at all. How many times do I have to say it?
