If Steam is your thing, then you better add the Bessemer & Lake Erie to your list as well.....

Hi Scott,

Perhaps you recall that we exchanged correspondence about your MSTS Mountain several years ago. I'm sure the simmers here would be pleased to see that locomotive on their TS routes, along with your Consolidation.

I don't want to oversimplify the conversion process but if you have your original Crafter files you're ahead of the game. You'll have to rename all the parts to the TS system and possibly convert your .ace files if they've undergone MSTS compression. Then comes the fun part: You'll need to create a full 3D cab with animated controls. A utility is available for Crafter that will enable you to export these items as intermediate files. I don't use Crafter myself, but many others here still do and can surely help you.

Once the intermediate files have been exported from Crafter, you then create a set of XML blueprints using another utility that comes with TS. The blueprint utility converts the intermediate files, allowing you to export your creation into the sim. This final step involves the same procedures, irrespective of which content creation tools are used.

Welcome and good luck!

Hi Folks,

Thanks for the tips - hmm - as Santa Fe - probably right up my alley too...

Hi Rick,

HAH - LOL - of course I remember you !!! You were one of the giants among men - the pillars and pioneers of the modeling community... When I started modeling - I was very lucky - I had people like yourself - Paul Gausden - Tim Muir - Bill Hobbs - and BuzzBenz (NALW) - taking the time to explain what was probably an endless stream of ridiculously simple questions I had... You guys showed me great kindness and patience which I will always appreciate - I'm probably forgetting some people... I truly hope all is well with you - as I've been pretty oblivious to the happenings on this side of the fence...

I just loaded TS2019 last night and I'm taking my first preliminary looks now - my first DTG product... The graphics are impressive - now I need to figure everything else out...

Thanks everyone...

Regards,
Scott

Hi Rick,

I spend a massive amount of time developing new techniques on textures - this is some of my best and most recent work to date on my own USRA Box - have it in single sided - double sided - with fishbelly and without - and rebuilt metal... Fully optimized with LOD's and Draw Calls thanks to Wayne Campbell's help and excellent explanations...
