This is my second redo with the program of Train Simulator within 1 month and a half. Do you think that is fun to do -- No it's not.

Buzz -- Yes so but why is the support guy at DoveTail Games kept telling me one after another that caused the problem of Train Simulator. First he said that my problem is with HPComm Recovery and he suggesst me to uninstall. So I did then still the same not solved and send him another crash report. Now he said to me to uninstall Intel Rapid Storage Technology and I followed his instructions but still the same with crash with Access Violation. I don't think that person himself know nothing about the problem of Train Simulator at DoveTail Games. That's my opinion. There's no reason for me to keep uninstalling one after another program that HP pre-installed the programs on my desktop. Now you see what I am talking about this.

The only way I can think of is to unsubscribe all workshop stuff and see what happen next with this?

John, In no way do I want to dismiss your issues however what I was trying to say is that since I and many others have no problems with this running (I know I'm a nut but I run this every day and do some running around as well as loading to paint and work on a route) I can't say DTG is going to fix a problem that many of us don't have. We are all trying to say that your game is somehow corrupted and are suggesting ways to fix it.

I have started to use the clear cache outside game function and have reduced these access violations to almost nothing for me. You do not to even go into TS to clear the cache. This was written by Mavadelo.

Why and How
I came across this on the old forums and wondered why nobody had the sense before to make sure this useful info was posted where it could be found back easy. I take no credit for finding out how to do this, the original idea seems to come from a player named Alanch who seems to be no longer on steam.
Have you ever had the game crashing on you and got told to clear cache only to find that the game crashes before you reach the Tools section in Train Simulator. Here is how you can clear cache easy without going into TS, you don't even need to have steam running to do it.

open a notepad and type the following code
del /s *.pak
pause

save this using the "all files" option with the name ClearBlueprints.bat you have done it correctly if the file icon is a square with two gears in it.

place this in .../Steam/steamapps/common/RailWorks/Assets
douleclick to use

a CMD window should pop up showing you the deletion of the files followed by "press any key to continue" and pressing the any key (usualy located near the fluxlight on the back of your keyboard, if you can't find or have it just use Esc) should close the window, you have cleared cache

Additional Option
add
del /s *.bak?
if you do a lot of editor work, it will remove the bak files that are generated after you made a new scenario/route edit save

do not use outside the Assets Folder

OK first want to say thank you to AmericanSteam and already ran bat file to delete blueprints and it's working to show all the files to be delete by that command which I double click inside the ASSETS Folder. Second of all want to say when I selected to run the route and scenario in 64-bit edition and no problem to load up the route and scenario in free roam. And will see the freight train on the screen after load up then I click on the leading locomotive then crash back to Steam page. So the problem is with BNSF Seattle Route or my program of Train Simulator? I don't want to go through everything trying to figure out what is the problem? Before I can ran that exactly same route with free roam scenario and no crash but now doesn't work.

Buzz and PeterHayes and Trev123 -- I know you all have Nvidia graphic card on your computer. Did you find any problem with the latest driver that Nvidia release last week. Someone from other forums mentioned that Nvidia graphic card driver caused the problem with the game simulator and need to roll back to the previous or a little back than previous. I wonder if mine is the problem with Nvidia driver.

John
I am using Windows 10 Insider Program ver 1809 build 18290.1000 with 417.22 but NOT affecting TS.

Very sorry, but I think that you may be deluding yourself :D - IMO your issue is with a corrupt file that you have not removed from your PC.
A faulty graphics driver cannot usually affect the installed RAM (corrupt code may)!!! In most cases of access violation error, the corrupt file is trying to access/write to a protected area in the physical RAM giving rise to an "Invalid Page Fault" - TS crashes with an access violation and a xC000005 - memory mismatch error.
You will never clear this until you UNSUBSCRIBE and then UNINSTALL any WS files and any files from other sites. A clean install of TS2019 and I mean clean only DTG items.
I guarantee a clean install outside Program Files(x86) folder will fix your problems, provided that your system specs/other software install is good.

There are between 80,000+, who are subscribers to TS 2019 and I roughly count less than 500 experiencing the issue(s) that you describe which means the fault (no significance) has very little to do with Windows, nVidia, Steam, or DTG.
Bite the bullet and start anew

Don’t worry about your Workshop subscriptions, Steam will download them to your fresh TS2019 install.
That’s what mine did anyway when I started a fresh TS2019.

Or you can pull them from the cache folder.

Most important now is to get back in the game by making that fresh install.

Or there is a bad memory module.

Had the access errors during Trainz beta testing and it was caused by a failing memory module in my computer.

Only showed up because Trainz was using so much memory.

Will eventually cause blue-screens-of death and other bad things.

Just guessin'

Harold -- I was thinking about that program of Trainz for a while but see few messages about Trainz with not happy train simmers. Then I decided to stay out of this.

John, one of your problems could be all these old routes that you download and half the assets are missing that you can no longer get from the 2014 era. You might want to uninstall them and see if TS runs any better. I think someone on here mentioned this in another thread.

All done and now be able to run the simulator. I am NOT going to pick some of the old routes or scenarios from workshop maybe a few but will run one scenario at a time and when it's done then unsubscribe the scenario. So that's way I won't have too much trouble with this. Guess that I learned the hard way to remember about old routes or mostly scenarios are not good except a few are good depend on the scenario creator when I see the name in workshop.

Thanks,

John

Glad you sorted it out yourself, John.
Did you install a fresh copy of Train Simulator 2019? Did it download all your workshop subscriptions by itself?

Staying away from old, obsolete, incomplete or possibly broken routes is a good advice.
There are plenty of good and well maintained freeware routes available here from Minerman, Tomcat and others. Plus their creators are still available to answer any questions.

I did both to unsubsribe all workshop files and fresh install too. No my workshop subscriptions did not install itself at all. I have to be more careful now with workshop subscriptions or old routes too.
