When referring to Rolling Stock

Hi.. I just have a very simple question.. When I read people's directions for scenerios or routes & there talking about what rolling stock cars I will need & they mention 40T or 50T what does the T stand for ??

it could be tons... however that's a wild guess. What does the instruction say exactly?

I'm pretty sure it does mean tons, Bill. A 40T car can haul a 40 ton load, a 50T car, 50 tons. (I think ) Or maybe it was dry weight? I'll try and find where we discussed this before.
