Help

Good Morning:

I bought the Steam version of FX and I am having a good time littering the country side with slightly bent aircraft. A few questions if I could.

I am only using the key board for controls and was wondering if a joystick would make flying a little easier. It seems that when I use the key board I over correct and then all hell breaks loose. Will a joystick be more responsive. Any suggestions on a good one that is not to expensive.

There seems to be some tutorials over at North Eastern Airways site but since they are not accepting applications I'm not sure if there is anything for beginners or not.

Thanks

A joystick makes it ten times easier to fly in Flight Sim. The most inexpensive joystick will do well as far as handling. All the rest is just bells and whistles (which are nice).

The mouse yoke may help a bit (crtl+y). I've got a X-55 hotas, despite the negative reviews, I love it. Control yokes do really change flying in FSX. Control Yokes and Hotas's really come down to preference. I love my X-55 but you have to have big hands, if you like small G.A aircraft there are some yokes designed to be like Cessna aircraft. Check out Newegg or FSpilotshop for some of the yokes they have.

Definitely you want to have some kind of controller other than keyboard and mouse. I have a CH Pro Flight Yoke for flying commercial and civilian aircraft and I use a Saitek X-45 joystick and throttle for fighters and some other military aircraft. I also have Logitech pedals.

I want to thank all of you for the comeback and advice. Have been looking on the web and I think that I will try either the Thrustmaster T-16000M Flight Stick, its $50 on Amazon or the Logitech - Extreme 3D Pro Joystick, its $28 at Bestbuy. Anyone have a comment on either of these joysticks. I think either would be ok for a test run to see if i like Flight Sim.

I have tried other games and simulators but I always come back to the train sims. The others just seem to loose my interest.

Thanks again.

Either one will be fine. If you become a fanatic of flying you will want more hardware *!twisted!*
