TS-helper and Springfield Line

Did anyone get this to work ? Because I can get it working fine on all of my locos, including the GP9 from Springfield Line, but not the GE44 or the Alco S-2. *!sad!*

There is no data either, so clearly I'm patching the wrong file, but I've tried them all (including the ones the data-extractor gives)...

Sorry, I meant to reply to Tom's post since looking at the forum name would answer his question.

This happens to me at times, because I use the "unread posts" view.

Of course I can see that it's in the TrainSim Helper section, but that does not tall me what TrainSim Helper is.

Ok... Well, Trainsim-helper gives both very convenient info like several PSI readings, speed, distance to speed change etc. in the corner of your screen (so if you want you can disable the HUD), and more importantly it allows for axis of a joystick (or in my case my Thrustmaster HOTAS throttle, for others for example a Saitek throttle quadrant) to be used. Way more accurate than a wanky raildriver, and you get some big levers to play with **!!bow!!**

I don't own a Springfield Line so can't say firsthand. If you are really patching the file given by data-extractor it has to be it. There is a chance that loco's script is crashing at the end of its execution (this happens with poorly scripted locos) preventing the TS's script from running. You can try a workaround.

In the tools directory there is trainsim-helper-engine-template.lua file and an -alternative version. Move the regular file away and rename the alternative to the normal (remove the "-alternative" from the file name). And try re-patching.

I will try the work-around tonight when I get home. Thank you!

EDIT: Yes, alternative worked, and they both work now. Thanks again! **!!bow!!**

Any specifics? I have not updated yet and I'm short on time recently for gaming. I'll try to have a look as soon as I can, but meanwhile please tell me what is wrong. I did put looking for the window title up to 2019 AFAIR.

What is the window title? Is it not "Train Simulator 2017"?

EDIT: Yeah, they got rid of the version numbering, it's just "Train Simulator". Update incoming.

As a temp fix, I have replaced the GameManager.dll with the old one !*brav*!
