Copy/Paste Does Not Retain Height Value?

On my system I used to be able to reduce the height of a section of grass. Then copy/paste it elsewhere. The original height was always copied as well. Now, despite copying an asset that is sunken below ground, the program restores it to ground height when pasted. Is this just my system or was this another "value change"? !DUH!

You might need to either uncheck the follow terrain box at the bottom of the screen, else use it in combination with auto height.

Use the "Auto Offset" button in the lower left flyout. I've been using -0.30 for my donner work.

The Snap To Terrain in the bottom center menu set to OFF allows the height of the Copied asset to be retained. World Transform ON is needed to see the button.*!greengrin!* *!greengrin!*
For me this is a major discovery since I like to plant a lot of grass but at a lower height beside the tracks so weeds protrude slightly above the grass.

Thanks for the hints....

That's nice to know.
The Auto Offsets helps when planting trees and shrubs along embankments.
