Castlerock

I just had to do a reformat of my HD and of course re-download RW. I was missing some loco pics in my menu for Castlerock so wanting to add those I went to RW Tools to get the route ID for Castlerock. RW Tools did not list it. It does however show up in the RW menu, scenario's and all.
Just wondering if DTG eliminated this route or combined it into Cajon Pass. I just can't figure out why it shows in my menu but RW Tools does not list it.

The reason RWTools cannot see it is because it is an AP file. You can open the AP file with RWTools or with 7zip and then RWTools well read it. A lot of routes and assets are now AP files, this has been happening since TS2014.

Use RailWorks Tools to extract the RouteProperties.xml
I think the path is Files, find all .ap files. Then when the window opens select the route and click the "Extract the RouteProperties.xml file for selected" button.

Another way to do it, is use 7-Zip to open the .ap file in the route folder, then click on the RouteProperties.xml and click on the "Extract Here" link at upper left.

That will also allow you to swap engines in scenarios using RW_Tools, like before 2014 came out.

Why do people post what has already been said ? nothing else better to do. It isn't a competition you know.

You weren't specific on how to do it.
Also, a person doesn't need to extract the whole route or asset .ap folder, just the xml.

I hate it when people say "just use RW_Tools or Serze.exe" or whatever the program is, with no instructions on how it's used. If a person is asking for help with something, it's safe to bet they don't know the procedures when using the tools...
I hate that assumptive attitude that others should "just know".
