Jerry - I just want to personally say thank you for all your contributions to this community, and the Train Simulator franchise. Your modeling skills and attention to detail has raised the bar in our community, and I believe has forced other content providers to raise their standards. I'm saddened that VRC is shutting down, as I was looking forward to the U34CH. But life is ever changing, and if there is a desire to try something... then you need to try it. You don't want to look back at a life filled with regrets. With that said, thank you again and I wish you all the best in your new endeavors. Take care, and stop by here periodically and say hi.

VRC's attention to realism will be missed. The GP40-2s and C30-7 are the best models in this sim to this day. I am still working on my own repaint of the C30-7 into a BC Rail C36-8M (say what) which I hope to have off the shelf someday and onto the tracks. I remember someone writing somewhere on this forum it was a shame no C30-7's were ever rebuilt, which is true for the US. Well if you look north of the border you will find that BC Rail bought 6 former Conrail C30-7s in 1999 and had them completely rebuilt by GE / Metro East complete with brand new 3600HP EFI engines and microprocessor control. These units were scrapped after 5 years of use after our local provincial government sold BC Rail to CN Rail who decided the majority of BC Rail's unique units (check out the RS18s with Cat engines) weren't a good fit with their roster. The units were sold and exported to Brazil where they still operate. Three of these units will continue to operate on my SC Rail route once finished continuing to do the job they were designed to do. Thanks guys for making the sim that much more real.

BN actually did rebuilds of Dash 7s.
C33 and C36-7s were outfitted with microprocessor controls, and boosted HP without EFI.

I remembering reading about these units and a similar modified set of SD40-2s years ago however understood these were more of a upgrade and reclassification than a true ground up rebuild with the addition of microprocessor controls.
