Give us about a month to locate some 710 engine sounds and flip the cabview (NS's 59's were bi-directional) and you shall have it!

When gone is 3DCrafter, the last of the Geeps this will be.

We can't use those fonts. We are a commercial enterprise.

Um. Sure?

You realize the question was directed to Jerry and the GP59 is in our line up?

I have used Peter's fonts for the freeware repaints I have done. So has Mike. We (VRC) are just honoring his wishes:

1. ) You may NOT distribute this in any way, shape or form that can be used for
profit (i.e., pay ware font bundles) or distribute this font in such a way
that it generates profit.

I would ask Pete directly, as I've used many of his fonts for my own work, and FWIW, with his blessing.

As written, the provision is that you don't distribute the font as part of a payware offering, not that it specifically not be used in the creation of that payware offering (two different animals).
Cheers!

VRC GP59

Myself, I prefer Railfonts.com

I was thinking of using that magical Photoshop program to lift the font directly from the unit. I had a "private" photo shoot with this unit back in 2008 and got some really great pics. The "Southern" fonts on 4610 seem to be a little fatter in comparison with the ones used in the original Southern paint scheme.

I've had to do quite a bit of fiddling with Railfonts fonts, but I when doing so, I use an older copy of Paint Shop Pro which allows me to easily edit the font's vector.
Cheers!

Hate to bump up an old topic, but the GP59's are out! And free for the next 18 hours!

VirtualRailCreations wrote:Happy Birthday 'Murica!

As you have already read in previos posts, we had quite a few locomotive add-ons for the GP40-2 that never got finished for one reason or another. This week I decided to brave the horrors of 3D Crafter and bring one of these "scrappers" back from the Boneyard.

The EMD GP59 is the latest release available at http://vrailcreations.net/ It still has a few warts, but it is operational and ready to haul goods. And did I mention yet that it's FREE for the next 18 hours to those who already have the GP40-2 Primary Pack?

So enjoy your birthday gift and remember, Southern Railway rocked with the long hood forward.

Enjoy!
