IRM has an operational 30C painted in BN colors. The Georgia Central runs high-nose 30B's. I was down their taking exterior photos last year, before I knew we knew we would be doing this project. **!!bang!!**

The Orange Empire RR Museum has an SP U-25B. I don't know the condition, or whether it contains a crapper like the U-30, but I can ask and see and perhaps take some pics (or get someone there to do it for me, as I'm not a member).

I'm not sure I would worry about it tho', as this would be little more than a whimsical feature.
Cheers!

I think the U25 at OE is the one that is featured in the Pentrex video "U-Boat Survivors". Excellent video for GE fans.

Based on that photo, the crapper has already been built. !*cheers*! I won't be including the kitchen utensils though.

What you're seeing is the toilet compartment heater. On EMDs its typically just a shorter version of the sidewall heaters. The nose is usually as cold as it is outside.
As for sounds, the U25B is where we recorded the U25Bs sounds, but between the U25B which has a really whistly turbo, compared to the unbalanced washing machine sound that U30Cs made. I have connections at IRM, I could see if they would be willing to record the 5383 for you.

That door and space looks awfully small for a person to fit.

You only need to reverse your backside into the space and sit. !*roll-laugh*!

For some reason, VRC announcements always go down the drain.
