1.) The install paths are not the same. If you decided you wanted both the VRC and Steam versions of the U30C, they would co-exist on your computer.
2.) VRC and Steam versions will not be sold at the same time. The VRC U30B is dependent on files of the VRC U30C, so it would not function without the VRC U30C.

I do not understand why the install paths must be different. The VRC Shop version has been discontinued meaning it is harder to acquire the Conrail variants.

All U-boats have been taken down from the VRC store, will they be put back up?

Are the controls on the U30C similar to the SD40-2 that we already have? Not literally in the cab, but HUD wise.

I don't understand your question. How can the HUD be any different when it's standard?

Are you comparing Basic and Expert modes by accident?

That's it! !*roll-laugh*! What was I thinking? I was wondering if the U30C had advanced and standard controls.

But i'll add that independently we (VRC) don't encourage the use of Simple Mode or game pads. We went to a lot of trouble to make all those switches and levers animate and do something. I tells ya that a 100 car coal train with four heads, four helpers on the 2.3% grade in Donner Pass just isn't as much fun in Simple Mode.

Nothing is fun to drive when you can't use those dynamic brakes to hold ya nice and steady! *!greengrin!*

Yah, this blended braking is gut. *!greengrin!*
Then when you get to a flatter spot on the line, you release dynamics, leave minimum airbrake set in place, and use the throttle to pull the train through the flat spot in the line, resetting the dynamics to control speed when it gets steeper again.

Well there you have it folks, the reason everyone should love trains - you learn something new every day! I've been doing it backwards. I use the Dynamic Brake until it's used up, then apply a little train brake as needed.
