VRC GP-40 Repaint Issues

Unread postby XDerpingxGruntX » Sun Aug 28, 2016 12:07 pm

So I'm attempting to repaint VRC's GP40-2 CSX primary pack, there is something wrong where only some parts are painted while the rest are in default CSX colors. i cant add attachments because I'm still new or i would show it to you. Anyone know how to fix it? i also talked to someone from VRC, he stated that there are at least 4 texture files or something like that. here is the email he sent me:

If I remember correctly, the model has three or four different texture sheets. I think all of them have some pieces of the exterior painted on them, but the first texture deals mainly with outside. That being said, the model is broken down into three different parts - "A" which contains the trucks, cab, start door, and anything that ia animated, "B" which is any part of the model that is seen from both outside and the cab view, and Cab, which is the interior view. It looks like you have only been painting the "A" shape and first texture.

I painted the gp402.TgPcDx and thats about it. the other files are indecipherable. Help please.

Are you sure the b and c BIN files are re-pathed correctly? Sounds like they are referencing the original GEO paths.

Jarred (the guy who i was talking to) said that there is an A, B, And C Texture file that i also needed to edit. all the .bins are pathed correctly from what i can tell.

It can't be too indecipherable since there have been quite a few repaints done.

The rest of the files are shown as pink or are not relevant to what im trying to paint.

OK so what are you having a problem with? Is it recoloring the cab and that one panel toward the rear?

Which one are you working with the P1 or P2? And have you re-named them or are just working with the present locomotive?

Ive done everything i would do with a normal repaint, from copying the folder and editing the .bin files, to the actual panting. it has not worked. Ive also attained the GP40 Undercorated pack hoping it would help.

P1 and i only renamed the copied folder, everything else was left alone except the .bin files that were modified.

The chances are highly likely that something is worded wrong in one of the bin files.
