Room For Potential.

Unread postby bloodonfire3 » Fri Sep 19, 2014 7:07 pm

All I can say that out of all the current vendors and groups coming into the TS2014/2015 fold (or regrouping from previous projects) VRC seems ready to dominate the GP40 crowd (bye-bye, RSC/DTG). That being said, I do see plenty of potential, but my question is this: is there anything beyond the GP40 that you guys there at VRC are thinking about? I'm not asking for definite plans, but just a gentile question.

All I got to say is the VRC GP40-2's are the best quality locomotives I have driven in TS 2015. That said, hopefully one of your projects is either an SD40-2, because of the high quality of your products. Or perhaps more EMD products. Potentially GE products. Again, love your GP40's!

I can't even run my DTG stuff anymore since purchasing the CSX GP40's and repainting them into my own road based on an unwanted remnant of BC Rail. The amount of detail and thought put into this model reminds me of the Flightsim transition from generic to accurate cockpits with all the proper startup switches. This was a much needed element for this sim and will forever change the way I purchase future locomotives. There are so many options and variations that could be offered for the GP40 including some recent variations created through EMD rebuilds dubbed GP22ECOs, GP40's with small 2150HP EMD710s in them which effectively converts them to almost a GP38 without exterior alteration to the unit. These are sure to keep these units and the similarly converted SD40's running for several more decades to come. My own fleet of GP40s have been converted to GP22ECOs which use 710 sounds from a DTG download that I picked up on sale only for the sounds. Amazing work guys, look forward to more and hopefully different units!

Having been running a GP40M BNSF a little bit ago, you've got it spot on!

I do agree, the VRC GP40's blow DTG's addons right out of the water. Great work to everyone at VRC! !*cheers*!
