My thoughts after viewing this and some of the beta videos out there on youtube in the past few months:

Impressive looking equipment.

Reasonable/comparable appearance versus other simulators. Seems to be more smooth rendering than some others (such as Trainz which has very impressive looking assets but, in my estimation runs like a TYCO HO train set around the christmas tree with dirty track,... ala this example https://youtu.be/gGXx-tkuRlg Very nice looking equipment in this Trainz product promo but, TSC on a fast computer has it beat hands down on rendering/smoothness). Again, I think the efforts of these creators on all the platforms is laudable.... I aint throwing rocks at anybody. To each his own preference.

Allows for multiplayer which could be a nice option for those into such things.

Heading in the correct direction to make train operations more engaging/realistic involving more complex actions such as angle cocks, handbrake application, etc. (I'm still satisfied with the way TSC works) I would encourage game designers to make groundwork and such optional for old school simulator fans and available for those who want to do such. Also simulators need the option to toggle between cab versus ground operations and eliminate long ground walks which, annoys me about TSW, unless I'm not doing something correctly.

Age Old Questions:
What about end user content and asset creation/editing?
Will it allow custom route creation? Ease/complexity of doing so?

This thought probably can't be answered until getting behind the wheel......so to speak..... What about the operational physics? Does it handle anything close to like a real train would respond. I still tie up handbrakes so I'm not going up horseshoe curve at 40 mph in run 2-3 with a long coal train!!!

**!!2cents!!**

From what I've heard, this is aiming to be like Run8, except for the steam / transition era. We'll see what comes of it.
