I'd make sure I had something in writing from both parties before I started something like this. It will save a lot of grief latter.

Supporting you in what way exactly? From what I've seen, they expect third party developers to be almost self-sufficient in building the models, so that DTG only have to take care of QA testing, packaging, publication, advertising and collecting the revenue from Valve (who take care of distribution and sales through their Steam platform). In other words, you have to know what you're doing and be capable of producing a quality product (that won't take forever to get through QA) basically on your own. Have you ever built anything for TS before? A tree? A house? A freight car? I did all of those, and more, before I attempted something as complex as a steam locomotive. I advise you to do the same, to learn the ropes on something simpler than a loco.

Alright everyone, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I named the tender body node 1_1500_tendermain01, I got the skins set as TrainBumpSpec with set 1 as the main body, and set 2 as the bump map. I exported it in two different file names AT&SF_3751_Class_Tender.igs and AT&SF 3751 Class Tender.igs. The blueprints aren't the problem, and when I go in game to put it on the track it's still invisible. What did I do?

I'll try to be kind here, but you're starting to make yourself look a bit daft.

I would hate to be seen as discouraging anybody who's as keen as you clearly are about creating content (especially a steam loco), but your thread belongs here - http://railworksamerica.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=9

Have you actually read and taken on board anything that anyone has said in this thread, particularly Mike in the post above yours?

Cheers

Bob

I may sit beside you all the journey through,
Or I may sit elsewhere, never knowing you.
But if fate should mark me to sit by your side,
Let's be pleasant travellers; it's so short a ride."

Whoever moved this thank you. Am I supposed to name the materials or the Maps in a certain way?

This is what the start of the tender looks like.

1_1500_tenderframe should be the name of the object. The material slot and texture can be named whatever you wish - tender for material and tender.dds makes sense.

Okay, Who knows how to get the asset editor to work. I don't have a single thing showing in the folders.

Me thinks you've bitten off more than you can chew. Best to read the documentation that comes with the game.

This Project is being postponed until my uncle gets the digital versions of the AT&SF 3751's drawings.

Perhaps for now you should try on something simpler, perhaps a model of a truck or car.

or pehaps a cow? okay, nevermind that. but you should start with something smaller and work your way up. for example: box, building, tree, animated windmill, truck for freight car, freight car, THEN locomotive. **!!2cents!!**

by the way, were not trying to discourage you. Nathan.h

I dont wanna sound ignorent for my first comment over here but Im gonna have to.

Dont ever expect this kid (logan) to make anything that will be finished for TS20XX. The kid never finished anything over in the trainz community and used 3rd party payware parts from K&L Trainz on a model he wanted to release as payware. Ive been told that is has said that the owner of K&L trainz has given him permission to distribute his train textures over here and thats false. Logan, you can be sued over that matter so I hope it aint true.

The Northern Pacific and ATSF 3751 were both projects of his for trainz that he gave up on, so it will be no surprise when he doesnt finish this. Logan, steve (1 of 2 owners of K&L trainz) is watching you and what you're doing.
