Do you mean wheel sound or track joint clicking?

If you are running QuickDrive scenarios you need to edit the route you are running on not the scenario.

I'm trying to remember, but don't you need Krellnut's sound pack installed and selected in the scenario also?

Yes, you need, but as I have written some days ago most of the blueprints are not compatible for quickdrive.

I am working on a correction of all the repaints I've found. These are more than 250 blueprints which I plan to publish here in the file library.

I would like to modify these entries, too:
- remove bulkfreight in the unloaded versions and create loaded versions where needed.
- set the drag to 3 (originally it is 7.4 which is too high). In my opinion 1 or 2 would be too less, I think this should better be used with large tank cars and hoppers.
- I am just not quite sure about the airsinglepipe. There have been some discussions here about the value for </MaxForcePercentOfVehicleWeight> :
In the original, the cars have values between 70 and 80. To have more realistic values they should have about 40. Is that right ?

I'm running in free roam, there is no track or wheel sound, not even coupler sound.

Here's the info I have from the AAR Brake Shoe Force Tests:

AAR requirements for freight car air brakes are outlined in S-401-99. Cars that are new, rebuilt or converted from cast iron brake shoes to composition brake shoes must have braking ratios in accordance with this document. The relevant net braking ratios for cars with high friction composition brake shoes, non-lever hand brakes, and a 30 psi brake pipe reduction from 90 psi brake pipe pressure are:

For TOFC/COFC cars: Loaded Net Braking Ratio between 11% and 13%, Max empty braking ratio 38%, minimum hand braking ratio 10%.
For all other car types: Loaded Net Braking Ratio between 8.5% and 13%, Max empty braking ratio 38%, minimum hand braking ratio 10%.

That 30 pound reduction they cite basically means brakes fully applied with a small over-reduction to make certain (since normally a 26 pound reduction would give full brakes).

For my freight rolling stock, I'm setting </MaxForcePercentOfVehicleWeight> to 13% for loaded cars and 38% for empty cars.

That's interesting, as my findings are usually the brake force with cars that have Load/Empty sensors, the opposite is true. The L/E Sensor will appropriate more brake force when a car is loaded rather than empty as to avoid wheel slide.

Thanks both for your answer, I will do some tests with loaded and unloaded wagons with different values to determine how these wagons perform in game.

How about starting a new topic since this has nothing to do with the mans sound issues.
