Hello guys.

Any suggestions on where I could find RS3 engine sounds? Even if I have to split them with Audacity.
The original ones (the sound files, that is) are a bit too high pitch for my ears, and they have a constantly waving whine when under load. I would like to swap them with something as close as possible to the real thing, rather than with sound files from some random diesel loco from my Assets folder.

I have spent the last 2 days searching YT and the internet in general, but no joy. I found a few RS3 locos on YT passing by in double and triple headers, with horrible sound quality.

Any ideas?

I think the RS3 and the FA1 were both powered by the Alco 244. DTM has the FA1-2 out through Steam. How about using that?

Buzz is spot on, both used the 12 cylinder 244 engine, developing about the same HP 1500-1600.

Good thinking. I didn't have that particular loco for the HSC route, so I went ahead and bought it.
The heart transplant (sound files, to be clear) was a success, with the help of 7z and Notepad++, and, of course, the tutorials I found here. And as a bonus, DTM did not disappoint, the FA1-2 is quite good.
