SOUNDS HELP...... [QUILLING]

Unread postby tplowman91 » Tue Mar 10, 2015 10:10 pm

Hello Community,

Here's the deal. This video describes what I've been spending days on trying to figure out how to code: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-rGxIIptl8

That being said, you can see I enabled the "Quilling" feature on the P32-ACDM units. Funny thing about this, was the unit originally came with the proper coding for quilling in the XML files, etc, however, the N Key didn't activate the quilling feature. I enabled that using the mapper file and adding a few things here and there. Problem I am having that is driving me absoloutely insane is getting the quill to work for the external side.

I am editing: P32_Cab.proxyxml and .proxybin; in the \Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\GE_P32\Cab subfolder. (These files are immensly buried).

It just doesn't seem to want to cooperate. What I AM HEARING is the Start and End playoneshot on the quill feature, on the external view, but not the loop.. No matter where I go, it just won't work.

My question, since the Coaster Cab Car has a great quilling system and everything works like a charm, how would I go about copying the coding used for that and implementing it into the P32-ACDM's without losing any of the engines sounds?

Also, does anyone know why when you operate the Coaster cab-car, the quilling/full horn feature is super smooth and nice, where as when you input those SAME sounds into the Surfliner cab-car, the quill and even the full horn skips and doesn't play correctly, and all the files are the same?

If anyone knows a solution, please respond!

Thanks

It's the control speed variable in the main engine .bin folder that causes the file separations to become obvious.

So if I copy the Coaster cab car speed control variation from its .bin files and copy it into the P32's bin file, it should quill nicely, responsively, and no skip or gap in the sounds?

Please explain in more detail! Thanks!

You can quill the horn by using the C key.
