It sounds great!

I had some trouble with the installer but was able to manually copy the files and all seems to work properly! I am curious if by copying the files manually, have I missed any key steps that the installer would normally do? Is it removing files for example?

Anyways - thanks to Walter and the team - well done!

I installed the new pack over the old one.

Still no locomotive bogie sounds however ...

Do I need to copy some original files from my virgin install back into my working US install? Original files that were changed by v1 of the wagon sound pack?

Neither v1\v2 did that. Version3.1b did it. That's why I'm suggesting this pack be installed in a fresh copy of 2015, so no old mods are left to create trouble.

If you copied everything from the package, you should be good. Also, the installer isn't deleting anything.

So v3.1b was the culprit and its installation cannot be undone.

I looked back into the v3.1 zip I have archived, it contains a folder "Default Rail Joint Sounds" but that folder only contains RW_AssetSetup.exe, no other files or folders.
Clicking that .exe deletes all .pak files, but did nothing else, as could be expected. Perhaps my copy of v3.1b has been touched?

Is v3.1b in virgin state still available somewhere so I can compare the Audio\RailNetwork\Bogies\BG_Modern.proxyxml files?

Will installing "Krellnuts Default Track Joint Fix" from the RWA filestore bring the default bogie sounds back?

There is no need for the equivalent proxybin files? Some posters say you need both proxyxml and proxybin files, others say you only need proxyxml.

!**conf**! I am confused and want back my clickety-clack. *!!wink!!*

Pretty sure you don't need .proxybin, iirc you can edit proxyxml files alone even if the proxybin is there too. Been a while though.

Will download and install this without question, given how superb the previous releases were.

That's supposed to restore back to default. Try it. Which loco's are giving you problems?

Audio is not using proxybin files, although Chacal says he's come across one instance where it was. I've never used them, and delete them first thing when going into an audio folder.

Not sure but 1b caused some serious havoc...anyways i posted in another section i thought it was just the Great Northern F7 but i installed the 2015 sounds over 1b and well it pretty much destroyed Railworks Horseshoe Curve throws dump message so im pretty much starting fresh again prolly something i needed to do anyways..it was pretty much my fault i should have read the instructions beforehand

I don't deny that using a fresh copy, then getting all the third party stuff back in can be frustrating, but I always make fresh copies and find they run better. Also, the version I make is ALWAYS outside of the steam folder. Using a fresh copy will ensure the old mods from previous packs are gone.

Instaling that file over the just updated v2015 brought the default track joint sounds back. *!!thnx!!*

I'll still look into the differences between default, v3.1b and v2015 proxyxml files, for I want the bogies to thump and thud more audibly when going through switches.
Both from outside views and inside the cab. Cab audio occlusion of outside sounds is very much a matter of many tries and a few errors to get the balance and muffling right.

Freight cars sound great otherwise. And you did the great job of providing different set up files concerning flat spots etc.
What again was the basis of your files? The Chinese freight car sound pack or the more recent Indian freight car sounds available at railsim.com?
I think Chinese car building practise if more like USA's, so I suppose those freight car sounds fit our purpose better.
