The files won't go into .ap files.
As for career scenarios, I don't know.
I don't know what the game checks for career scenarios.

NO on both counts!

The files sit within their own folder structure inside the target asset. .ap files are generated by Steam/DTG, while third party (including your own) files/updates/tweaks/reskins sit in an external file structure outside that. If a file with the same name sits in both the .ap file and the external file structure, then TS2015 will use the one in the external file structure first.

And no Content (i.e route and scenario) files are affected - the Sound Pack changes are all applied to files within the Assets folder structure.

However bear in mind that a Steam update/file verification *may* overwrite or remove the new files (though in many cases shouldn't and won't), so keep a backup to hand

Just a de-lurk and post to say a huge thank you to Walter and the RWA team for developing and hosting what is, for me, the most invaluable add-on for TS since Mike Simpson's RW_Tools.
*!!thnx!!*

More power to ya, guys!

I bought the Great Northern Empire Builder pack today on Steam, and immediately reinstalled Krellnut's wagon sounds. However I'm not getting any sounds from the included cars in the set, like the reefer. Anyone have any ideas on what to check? BTW I am using the latest version of the soundpack in the library (11/01/14)

Thanks!

Ah, after lets of messing around, I figured out the issue. The 3 .bin files for the 3 freight cars (the reefer, caboose, and box car) need to have the provider/product changed from Kuju and RailSimulatorUS to the folder the pack comes in, RSC and EmpireBuilderPack01. Then the Audio\Railvehicles\Wagons\Wagon Freight Sound.xml line needs to be changed to Audio\Railvehicles\Wagon\Wagon Sound.xml

Now all is working well ;)

edit: Forgot to add, the Big Sky Blue marketplace add-on needs the same fixes applied, except the "product" should read EmpireBuilderPack02

Forgive me for asking, but, is Walter going to add these wagon sounds to those folders that aren't already in the package. I have tons of freight content in Great Northener's Allegheny folder, and then there are the new FMC 50ft boxcars from MaineLines, etc, etc.

That's not how it works.
You need to ask specific questions.
Otherwise it's like asking Rembrandt "can you please teach me hor to paint?"

What you should do is have a look at how Krellnut did it.
Get some knowledge on your own before asking questions.
Download the sound pack, look at the files included, look at the changes they make vs the originals.
Hint: everything starts with the wagon's blueprint. Open this in RW-Tools, find the link to the sound blueprint, open this, find the proxyxml, open this, etc.

The only reason every car we have isn't done is because I don't have everything. If you want something fixed, attach the audio folder for said cars, and I'll make it go.

Look at the download page again, and you will see Miami Sound Addon.

No, that's fine Walter, I appreciate that not everyone has the Payware wagon content that's been on offer for a few years now, without it there's not a lot you can do, I should have realised that, sorry Sir.

As I'm a big addict of this sound pack (a lot more than just a fan), I had a go at patching various files which seemed to have wrong entries. Nearly all DTG rolling stock patches, which are included in Krellnut's sound pack, had incorrect entries as they just had their default path to the sounds without being changed to point at the WJ sounds.

So what I did is the following:

- Corrected all DTG rolling stock (Academy, Dash 8, NS GP38-2, NS SD40-2 LHF, CSX SD80MAC)
- Corrected all DTM rolling stock (all four SD45s)
- Applied sounds to the SP Bloody Nose F7 Marketplace Livery wagons based on the GN F7 ones
- Applied sounds to the GN Big Sky Blue F7 Marketplace Livery wagons based on the GN F7 ones
- Applied sounds to the Seaboard GE U36B pack (new!)
- Applied sounds to the CSX NRE 3GS-21B Genset pack (new!)

Couldn't add an attachment, always received a 400 Bad Request error. *!rolleyes!* Please let me know whether there are any issues with the corrections made. Thanks. :D

The sounds didn't work because Krellnut put in a reference to the Kuju/RailSimulatorUS sounds. So either you didn't have the Kuju assets box ticked or the WJ sounds box. The blueprints weren't loaded so there wasn't any sound.

What I don't understand is why Walter added the sound separately to every freight wagon and didn't just keep the Wagon Sound.bin file alone which all freight wagons should use. Maybe because they didn't have any sound entries in their BIN files (as I noticed)? The passenger cars use their own Superliner sounds from the respective folder.
