RW_Tools now re-released as TS-Tools

Unread postby mikesimpson » Wed Mar 25, 2020 5:13 pm

Just to let you know, I have redone RW_Tools with a number of bug-fixes and renamed it as TS-Tools (Railworks was changed to TS2012 8 years ago, so I suppose it is time for a change). There are a number of updates to the program and a new manual.

Hey Mike I tried to download this but Windows Defender said it's detecting a trojan? Am I downloading from the right place? http://www.agenetools.com/downloads.html

This appears to be a false positive from some versions of defender, I have just downloaded it myself here and Defender states it is OK.
If you click 'Allow on device' it will download fine.

However if you are still worried, try a different anti virus software and see if that saves you worrying.

Sorry, please don't use PM to me as I only watch the RW_Tools forum if it appears that a new message has been posted in there. If nothing posted, I miss the bit about PMs being there.

Anyway, the fix is just go to the Options menu in TS-Tools and select the option there to register Superpicture2 and all should be well.

Mike, may I request a 'consist builder' similar to that of the old ConBuilder tool for MSTS?

Something like where I pick from my list of cars, put them in a pick list, enter the total amount of cars I want, and it randomizes the train from said picklist? I could then go in and add locomotives as it currently stands in your consist editor and all that.

That would be a great feature to have. !!det!!

Now you are going back in time, Conbuilder must have been nearly 20 years ago when it first came out. I will have a look at it, but don't know how much work this will entail. Remember that Conbuilder was a stand-alone program back in the day.

I would like to second this motion. Absolutely this would be a great feature to add... even if it means having it as a separate standalone program. Have the ability to add "tags" to your cars, such as Steam, 80's, modern, etc. This would probably mean having a separate car database. Then enter the number of cars along with the desired tag(s), and let the builder create the consist for you. By using tags, it eliminates the possibility of a double stack being used in a transition era train set.

Cars have the ability to have this kind of information embedded in the .bin files as meta data I believe. Not that many people make use of it.
