Error

Unread postby ValleyBoy » Sun Nov 11, 2018 3:59 pm

When I go to Edit Scenarios then click Edit Selected Scenario I get a window with the following-Error 339 component "SuperPicture2.ocx" or one of its dependencies is not currently registered: a file is missing or invalid.
When I select Register Super..... I get the message-The module "D:\RW Tools\Super...." was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80004005.
Because of this I am unable to swap rolling stock in scenarios. I have redownloaded and reinstalled RWTools v8.0.25 as administrator several times with the same result.
I will appreciate any suggestions to help overcome this problem.

Hi Brian,

Where have you installed RW_Tools? It should not be in the folder c:\Program Files (x86) if that is where you have installed it, please try somewhere else, e.g. c:\RailUtilities or similar.

2. Also make sure you are actually running the program as administrator. Right-click the RW_Tools icon and go to Properties/Compatability and tick the box 'Run this program as an administrator'

Usually the registration of the SuperPicture2.ocx file should occur automatically when the program is first installed, but I did include the item in the Options menu to register it if this failed. I have never seen the problem you have where it did not register under either method. This would appear to be a security issue on your PC, are you running something like Norton which might stop it being registered?

I'm still having the same problem.
RW_Tools is installed in D:\RW_Tools: RailWorks is also installed in D:\
I am running the program as administrator.
The only anti-virus program I'm running is 360 Total Security.
I've been using RW Tools for many years and have never had this problem before.

Is it specific to 1 route or scenario, or is it happening across multiple routes and scenarios?

Did you run the installer as an administrator?

I have no idea why the SuperPicture2.ocx will not install on your PC unless you have a bad download? Have you tried downloading RW_Tools again from my site?

RW_Tools has been downloaded over 30,000 times and this is the first time I have heard of a user not being able to get the .ocx to register , at least after following the instructions given above.

I will look at changing the code so that the program will still run without the .ocx however it means a lot of program changes as the pictures can appear in a number of areas of the program.
