Thst's what happen when I open scenario in RWTools Editor to swap rolling stock:

Missing items:-

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\RSC\P42Pack01\archive\RailVehicles\Passenger\Amtrak_phIII\Baggage\SL Baggage_phIII.bin
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\RSC\P42Pack01\archive\RailVehicles\Passenger\Amtrak_phIII\Coach\SL Coach_phIII.bin
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\RSC\P42Pack01\archive\RailVehicles\Passenger\Amtrak_phIII\Coach\SL Coach_phIII.bin
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\RSC\P42Pack01\archive\RailVehicles\Passenger\Amtrak_phIII\Sleeping\SL Sleeper_phIII.bin
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\RSC\P42Pack01\archive\RailVehicles\Passenger\Amtrak_phIII\BaggageHeritage\BaggageHeritage_phIII.bin
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\RSC\P42Pack01\archive\RailVehicles\Diesel\P42DC\Amtrak 40th\Locomotive\GX_P42_Amtk40th_nc.bin
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\RSC\P42Pack01\archive\RailVehicles\Diesel\P42DC\Amtrak 40th\Locomotive\GX_P42_Amtk40th.bin

I have no idea why it references to P42Pack01\archive\ folder
I have "normal" P42 unpacked from .ap archive, so it has full content unpacked.
and \archive is my backup folder where I keep original .ap

Scenario normally runs in the game, without any missing stock items.

it is because they re in .ap files and rw tools cannot see inside them, if you unpack the .ap files first then you will be able to see them

It looks like the author of the scenario unpacked the .ap file into the "archive" folder before writing the scenario, which is why it's looking for the files there.

(robbit - you might want to read the original post again.)

You got it, Bob.
@awaken1977 you need to swap those assets in RW-Tools with the correct ones.

They all correct. All scenarios working in the game, and I can open them in editor. it's a problem with RWTools itself.
I can't swap anything because it shows error in every consist.

p.s. previously I installed Krellnut's sound pack for freight cars. and it asked for change file attributes to read/write.
I also installed Dash9 sound replacement and SD70 sount replacement from file library. I don't now is it related to the problem, maybe a coincedence.

before that, RWTools was OK

nope.

Scenario was written long ago and used G-Trax P42DC.
I wanted to replace it to new RSC P42DC and re-publish the scenario.

But since RWTools don't see content in archives, I unpacked .ap from Genesis P42DC DLC, and moved archive itself into \arhive subdirectory. All scenarios are intact.

p.s I think it some how related to either one of sound packs I installed recently. but I can't understand the connection.

I think there's your problem. Don't move the .ap file, the game is supposed to manage both packed and unpacked files automatically.

In theory, it goes like this: the game looks for an unpacked file at the specified path, if none is found, the game looks for an .ap file in the provider/product folder, opens this, and then looks for the file at the specified path inside the .ap file.

RW_Tools does not 'make up' error messages. If it says it can't find a file in a particular location, then that file is missing at that location, and somewhere in TS2014 there is a pointer to that location.
