Can RW_Tools be set up to run without a password...

To be more specific, can RW_Tools be set up to run without a password on a non administrator account?

I've got a password protected account, and a standard user account for everything else. I run TS 2014 in my standard account and am getting frustrated at having to frequently enter a password, depending of course on what I'm doing.


As a side note: I've noticed that .bak files no longer show up in folders when I use the tools to open them, unless I go through Windows Explorer and open them there first.
In fact a lot of files outside the .ap files no longer show up in RW_Tools if I open folders for engines etc.
I can open those "invisible" files, but I have to search for them in Explorer and open them with RW Tools from there instead of directly inside the RW_Tools window.

I am not sure that I understand the query. Once you enter the password for RW_Tools the first time, the data is saved and you should never have to enter it again. You should set up RW_Tools to always run as administrator by right clicking on RW_Tools.exe and selecting Properties/Compatability and ticking the box to 'Always run this program as administrator'. If you don't do this, then the password is probably not being saved, hence your problem.

At what point don't .bak files show up in RW_Tools - you could never see them from the Files/Open TS2014 files menu as that has always been limited to opening *.bin, *.xsec *.geopcdx files as .bak files could be any of the above. You really need to rename them to .bin etc to open them.

For what it's worth, I have to enter my password when I run it (from my non-administrator account) as well. When you check "Run as administrator" you still have to put in the password each time. It's the same with Steam.

I had exactly the same problem. It's gone! Maybe because of a "validate files" in Steam or a defrag of C (Windows) or E (RW program) Drives. Sorry I don't recall the cure, but it probably wasn"t anything I did on purpose I'm almost positive it had nothing to do with RWTools.

Glad to see its not just confined to me. (the Tools, not Steam - hardly ever log in there) Thought it must have been something I did (most issues usually are )

Not a big deal in the overall scheme of things...just annoying
