Adding multiple terrain files when building a route

Unread postby dleeboy » Sat Jan 03, 2015 4:48 pm

Hi Mike I use your RWtools program a lot it is great. I want to know is there a way to add multiple terrain bin files when you first build a route. If you can add different ones after the route is built that would be good to know also. Thank You for any help you can give me.

I don't think it is possible to use multiple terrain.bin files in a single route, however it is possible to merge such files manually but I have never done this myself. I am sure there must be instructions for this in some of the forums, I know that 'Sniper' on trainsim.com did this for his PO&N route, so if you download that route, you might be able to work out how he did the terrain.bin file.

Maybe someone else on here has more ideas about this than I have.

Thank You so much. I have another question for you I use your program to put named markers in my route. I use google earth to get the marker names in KML. I did this when I made the route. But I am having problems adding more to them. They are located in my asset folder under my name and in the route markers folder. But only the ones that I put in when I made the route show up. When I click the fly out window to go to that location when I am working on the route. Can you help me with that. I want the new ones and old ones to show up. Not just the old ones.

When you used RW_Tools to convert the .kml file to markers, you will end up with 2 new files for each .kml file you convert:-
e.g. MyMarkers.bin and MyMarkers.dcsv
The names don't matter as long as both are the same and there can be many of these pairs of files, my route has 24 sets.

These marker files should all be in your RouteMarkers folder which is in the same folder as your TemplateRoutes folder pointed to by the RouteProperties.xml for your route.
