RWA RS-11

Unread postby slick204 » Thu Aug 14, 2014 10:23 pm

I've been working on repainting Virtual Railroad's RS-11 for the RW&A. As far as I can tell there are no decals, so all text and logos have to be on the main textures. When I put the RW&A logo on the side of the cab it's so small, it turns to mush. I'd like to get some input from the community on how to proceed with this. I borrowed some ideas from Michael's RW&A SD9 and put "Riverside Waterton & Atlantic" on the long hood. I don't think there's anywhere I can place the logo and make it look right.

I've tried a couple of things attached below. I'm not sure I like either one. What do you think of these? I'm open to any ideas!
And no, the yellow striping isn't done!

Thank you for doing the RS-11. It is such a nice looking old locomotive.

IMHO, the 1st photo, -1, looks better. Might look good with a flat-black roof also.

Both look great! This line has been "begging" for an RS-11! :)

Thanks!

Looking forward to this! Both look great, I lean to the first, but who says there can't be a few of these in different liveries working the line.

I tried that (similar to the RWA SD9s) but it was still too pixelated. However, just looked at it again and thought of something to try.

Thanks for all the suggestions! *!!thnx!!*

Here's what I did: I removed the lettering around the logo as it was too small. It looks fairly decent on the front and rear now. I also did a few other touch ups.
Does this look better?
