RW&A Rolling Stock Update

Unread postby artimrj » Mon Sep 05, 2016 10:47 am

Michael sent me the is update for the Lakeside route's rolling stock. Thanks Michael!!!

Here is what has been done.

So what's new in the above freight car set?
• re-trucked every model (there was a small gap between flange and tread on my previous model, hard to see on my low resolution but bad on high ones)
• fixed that bad distant LOD error on the cattle car
• found and fixed a few z-fighting decals on the boxcars
• implemented latest sound set tweaks from VNH (better AI low speed braking, better tight curve flange squeal handling)
• fixed braking physics bugs (which include bad things like having forgot to tick the "triple valve" box) on all these cars:
o the 36' Boxcar
o all PS-1 steel boxcars
o all USRA boxcars
o the pickle car
o all reefer cars
o the tankcar
• no texture, number, naming changes

Cool. It seemed to me the triple valve setting was there, but said "eFalse" That and the proportional braking have to be turned on "eTrue" to work right.

Anyways, thank you Michael. *!greengrin!*

Thanks for the update. If Michael is following, how do we apply the files to the reskins we've added?

Thanks for the kind words! Those bugs were all discovered during the Springfield Line beta testing, we must really thank the the DTG beta testers for discovering those issues.

Harry

There were no changes to mapping or textures, so in most cases you can simply replace the Geo file. However, if your repaint is based on a car that is listed in the "brake physics bugs" category in Bob's first post, I would recommend also rebuilding the repaint's BIN file from the matching base model's BIN file.

Cheers

Thank you, Michael: it's updates like this that take me back to a once familiar route that I have ignored for too long.
